I Use my laptop and have a scroller next to the touch mouse, I use it all the time on FFn to skip shit and its very useful. But now that I downloaded Firefox It no longer works, but still does in IE. Anyone Know how to fix this?

I find that sometimes my scroll wheel on my mouse doesn't work either. If I click on the page itself, it fixes the problem.

I'm not sure about laptop scroll things, I never used mine (and it didn't work in Linux anyway).

Works fine for me. You might want to try reinstalling firefox, or upgrading to Firefox 3. Try looking into your touchpad settings in control panel.

I have Firefox 3, and I also tried Reinstalling it, and no luck with that either.

Well, I have an original ball-mouse with a scroller, and it works fine...

What does the browser have to do with whether the mouse will work properly?

I don't know but it only stops working in Firefox and I just got it and love it so its gay that it takes away my quick way of skipping an authors profile.

It's often quicker to click the "hide bio" link than to scroll. Some of those ff.n profiles are insanely long.

Edit: Download the latest drivers for your touchpad. I'm going to assume that you're using Synaptics.

    Drivers are here: http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm

Follow these instructions after installing: http://www.standardsandgrudges.com/2006/06/19/scrolling-in-firefox-with-synaptics-touchpad

Thank you Yak, that seems to have solved the problem.
