I didn't realise this had started again until I saw the topic being revived, so I just went and watched the first two episodes. I have to say I'm somewhat optimistic. I had low expectations after seasons 7 & 8, but those two eps weren't bad. I could see this being a decent, not great but still decent, watch. But it is too early to tell, as usual. Even the first season of Scrubs took half a dozen episodes to really get going.

The Guy Love bit was the worst moment by a long shot. Completely unnecessary. We got the point a long time ago. Cole needs to get his. Never can stand watching characters like that. And Lucy is okay. I'll definitely be watching the next few to see how it progresses.

It seems like there slowly trying to replace old cast members. Carla wasn't even in the first two episodes, Elliot was on for like 30 seconds, and the new blond intern is as quirky as J.D; to much of a coincidence. I thought J.D. grew up a little last season, but they seemed to have reversed that quickly.

Honestly, Scrubs ended at season 8 for me. Preferably in 7, but there were a few good episodes in 8.

Also, the fact that the show was so good really makes the bad episodes worse. (The entire music episode comes to mind. Kill it with fucking fire.) The fact that they're bringing it back with no intention of having JD remain just ruins it.

I tried watching the first two episodes of the new season and found it incredibly pointless. They're slowly removing all the characters that made the show what it was in previous seasons and inserting new med students that no one really cares about.

Unfortunately the med students don't really bring anything to the show that wasn't already there (to me at least). The new main character is just an appropriately gendered JD, and her boyfriend/crush is like a younger Todd only super annoying because he lacks the obliviousness that made the Todd funny.

Anyone but me think Elliot actually looked better in earlier seasons?

But yeah same stuff as everybody else. The average episode is meh, some make you want to hit your head up against a wall, and some are great. But I still watch every episode cause generally the great ones make up for all the average ones.

A lot of people are forgetting that what is essentially season nine should be season one of a new show. Fox is the only reason that the Scrubs name is tagged to the show anymore. Scrubs has ended. This is one of those old school spin offs of shows that maintains a couple characters - most recent example I can think of being Torchwood. And if you compare the first two episodes for this season to the first two of season one, they're not bad at all.

They went ahead with only planning to bring Turk and Cox back, Kelso I dunno why he's still there, and JD they should of left at Season 8. His exit was awesome.

And no, Elliot got hotter later on, earlier seasons she looked too tiny and pale.

I enjoyed last nights episode more than last weeks. Had a little less JD and more of the other characters.

The only funny bits about this show was the Janitor, Ted and Kelso IMO, without them the show is just about a sexually confused guy.Oh, and the Todd was awesome.

    Finishing-the-post-five!

The Janitor was funny, but at a certain point he got to be such an asshole that it stopped being funny to me and I just wanted to see his shit backfire on him. I was also disappointed as hell about the reasoning they gave for why he was such a dick, I wish they hadn't given him one at all, that would have at least been a bit amusing instead of that penny story.

I'm cool with the new episodes, because they're no worse than Season 8, which I didn't really mind. Drew and Lucy are growing on me somewhat - Drew because of his throwaway lines of random crazy stuff he did in the past, and Lucy because of the crazy horse obsession, which made me genuinely laugh in the most recent episode.

The new season is awful. The only time I laughed this season so far was the scene with the Janitor.

Oh, the one where he was talking to Turk about how he thought JD never actually left? Yeah, that was a good scene.

I liked when Mahoney called Lucy; 'Seabisquit'.

So far the Season is pretty bland. Coal bugs me. The interaction between Drew and Cox, while hilarious for JD's reactions, seems so... forced and unnatural for Cox.

I'm watching it, but it's mostly out of boredom.

They are still eluding to JD leaving. I was surprised as hell to see him in this Season, as I was under the impression they did this whole dynamic shift because the actor wanted to leave the show and do other things.

Zach Braff stated in a blog before they started filming Scrubs Med school that he would star in the first 5-6 episodes to help with the transition of the show.

OT: Im not to keen on the new spin off, sure Ill watch it because I absolutely loved the scrubs series and should atleast watch it enough to figure out if I like the show or not.

My main issue is with the new characters, their personalities are so forced and one dimensional, I hope to see some character developement otherwise I wont continue watching it.

They're probably going to watch all their ratings plummet as soon as J.D leaves.

I'm actually liking the JD-less episodes. Don't get me wrong, I liked the guy for 8 seasons, but the new characters get to rise up and try to win me over a bit more, and it's not too awful. Three JD-less episodes in, and I'm cool with it. For one thing, Cox and Turk's development is awesome - Turk is not just JD's first wife/husband/partner, and Cox is not just the guy that JD is hounding for approval.

And Lucy is fucking nuts, which I kind of like. So there's a start for the new characters...

I watched one of the JDless episodes and it was much better to me than episodes with JD. Forget Lucy and make the show about Drew, Denise, Cox, and Turk.

So, JD is back, and so is Jordan. I find it more enjoying with JD in it. With out him the show is kind of boring.
