Before I sign in, what is this story about?

 

You mean to say you don't know Joe's brilliant fic? Where have you been living? Anyway, Sword of the Hero is a first of the Hero trilogy authored by Joe (joe6991 on Schnoogle). Its completed and there is a sequel currently going on named Defiance of the Hero. These are Super-Harry fics. Harry becomes extremely powerful in the first part but some of this power is drained during a fight with LV at the end. Its post OotP if you haven't guessed already

I cannot tell you much without giving you spoilers but something happens that forces Harry to leave the world he is currently living to another dimension who's Harry was killed by Voldy at 10, i think. The Potters are alive and Harry has a younger sister and a brother. The shipping is H/G but this one is only for the first fic whereas the second one is pure action packed. A couple of chapters back had Harry fighting two Nundus in his animagus form (guess what??). The action scenes are pure bliss if you love it. Its kinda long (even long seems short) and some parts are like philosophy (you'll know when you read it), but you can skip over the chapters.

Yeah.. i think blast ended skrewts proved that very well... basilix or phoenlisks shouldnt be too much harder to breed... and with an army of them... dominating the world wouldnt be too difficult! ^_^

That Gryffindor vs Slytherin dueling scene was pathetic. The only spells they knew were expelliarmas, crucio and avada kadavra.

 

I totally agree, I had high hopes from that fic and then I was hit with that mockery of a duel. That must be one of the worst action scenes ever written (in a serious story).

Does it get any better later? Coz it seems like the guy knows how to write, it's only his pathetic attempt at duel between the two most powerful wizards in the world that made me drop this story.

 

I read this a while back it was ok and i suppose if you can overlook some of the non essential babble it does get better ip82, grit your teeth and bear it :wink:
