It wasn't bad, and I did enjoy the Harry/Fleur. Mentioning Cardinal Richelieu gets points too, since I'm a history lover (as I ought to be, seeing as I'm getting a college degree in it within the next three months). Still, I would have preferred more plot development. The pairing content went on a bit too long. I'd try to shoot for about a 70/30 ratio favoring plot content over bedroom material. That's about what I try for in Dakaath and it seems to work well enough. Don't neglect the romance, but do try to keep the focus on the actual storyline.

 

I go for less than 70/30, more like 90/10. Eh, this chapter went overboard a bit, but guess I was making up for last couple of chapters and for later. I'm almost sure there will be no smut at all for 2 chapters.

Don't know about others but I found that that I can't work heavy romance with heavy plot development which is why there seemed to be so little plot in this chapter (compared to romance). Also I kind of assumed readers could only concentrate on one or the other so I thought, what the hey, just go with one.

Excellent. You can correct me once I start going into the Roman/arthurian legends/medieval stuff ... if you stay with it until then.

 

LMAO...antiquity isn't my specialty at all. I'm really much more a modern historian and have actually taken very little ancient history, but I'll try and help where I can. Especially Arthurian stuff, which is really more mythology than anything else in my experience. But I should be able to help with the medieval content at least, and my Roman history is at least adequate.

 

lol, either way. I might have something about WWII/Grindleward era, i.e. about the Beauxbatons/French maquis or some German/bulgarian+romanian/Durmstang stuff also. Point is to identify the feelings that arouse from that time from various groups/peoples that influence how they now feel at Harry's time.

Eh, you mentioned H/Fleur. Do you mean the after sex talk/moments? If so that's weird, my beta and I were wondering if it was too corny.

 

I wasn't referring to any part in particular. It wasn't bad or corny at any point but I felt that it was just too much romance and not enough plot altogether.

 

Personally Riddler i liked your word game with the headmaster i thought it an excellent example though maybe...a bit...to obviouse. I still thought it my favorite bit of the chapter! anyone who doesn't make Harry go off and start preching/ranting/bitching with Dumbles and instead plays with the words is always more enjoyable to read. took you a while to updaye compared to your others i found, is it going to take that long again...if you can see im desprite you'd be quite right.

 

I guess I would agree. Damn I thought I had some awesome naughty moments too, but I agree the volume was simply a killer. Might end up breaking pieces for later since it took way too much time to write.

1) Harry like all meglomanics to be or the likes is 'telegraphing his punches.' I'm sure everyone who's read anything about Illuminati knows what that is.

2) If Dumbledore is spending 5 hours each day making sure Harry's not butchering little DE-to-bes, what is he NOT doing 5 hours each day. Note that his duties include School Headmaster, Chief of Wizarding court, International Confederation member and Ministry advisor of sorts.
