I'm not sure if this is a Vista problem or an architecture problem... but I've been trying to share a printer hooked up to a Vista Home x64 to my other computers which are all XP x86.

I've shared it, I can see it on the network, but when I try to install the drivers for the printer on the 32 bit machine, I just get an error message that says "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver."

I don't get it. It's the correct driver for the printer, and it's the correct architecture. I even used a universal print driver, but that came up with the same message.

The same thing happens when I try to do install it on the Vista machine.

Anyone have any experience with this issue? I've googled it, but it's not been much help.

Edit: I also added the x86 drivers for the printer on my 32 bit machine via Printers and Faxes >> File >> Server Properties >> Drivers >> Add. I added the universal driver and the specific one. Still no luck. Should I try this on the Vista machine?

If I remember correctly, there is a button on the sharing tab in printer properties. Something like "additional drivers". It allows to add drivers for different OS's and architectures, which will be used when you add printer on another machine.
