Hadrian07, you're another of the ignorant people who come here and rec some terrible shit in their first 10 posts without having read the Stickies. Go through the all subforums, read all the Stickies and think about what you've done.

 

At first I thought this was good advice but clearly this is the better idea.

Every time you want to recc a fic post it in the Worst Summaries Thread instead and if people like it you know not to reccomend it, plus you get heaps of positive responses and the people who haven't read this thread think you're a pretty cool guy.

 

Post stories that you think MAY be library worthy in the Almost Recommended thread (which can be located in the Fanfic Discussion forum further down on the home screen. It's next to Work by Author, which houses stories written by DLP authors). If it has a good reception there, then its likely that it will make the library; if it does not, you won't receive nearly as much criticism for proposing a shit story.

I have been here forever, and a few stories I've recced have not been accepted and have ended up in "the Recycling Bin", which is where decent fics that aren't quite library worthy go.

ADDITIONAL RANT:Honestly, we should make new members have to sign the bottom of stickies (check the box at the bottom saying you read this) before they can register. We wouldn't have half as many problems with new members, and we could always immediately ban the idiots (because they said they were aware of the rules).

Chapter 9, which I figured I'd jump to to see these discussions, begins with an explicit Harry/Draco sex scene, followed by Remus and Lucius declaring their love for each other, followed by an explicit Voldemort/Snape sex scene, followed by a flashback to a scene at Potter Manor, followed by Harry adopting Fred, George, and Luna ("so mote it be"), followed by the ritual slaughter of Colin Creevey just to hide Lucius' dark mark.

Finally, after 90% of the words were devoted to slash and cliche and completely pointless murder with which none of our protagonists have a problem, Voldemort announces that "the dark side" merely wishes to enforce the Statute of Secrecy. He's had a change of heart, you see, and while he still believes Muggles are lesser beings, they would wipe wizards out in a war (if they "bend their considerable intelligence" toward the issue -- yes, Voldemort says that about Muggles). He further concludes that Muggleborns are not all bad, half-bloods can be really powerful, and purebloods are weakening due to inbreeding. His new plan is to "establish an earlier detection method" for magical children and begin educating them earlier, and make sure they want to stay in the magical world.

He gives this epic, eloquent speech to Bill and Charlie Weasley in a room full of Death Eaters, all of whom are immediately swayed.

Note that Harry and Snape have a sort of pet name for Voldemort: Marvolo.

I honestly think you deserve a medal for reading that far.

Either that, or you really need therapy if you read that much of the Story.

Was any of this accurate? I am trying to read the story so I can rate it, and it is obvious 1/5 materiel, but I can't find the chapter 9 you are referring to.
nvm, I misunderstood the original post, and thought you meant the 9th chapter posted on FF.net. Following that, I went to AOOO and thought I was reading chapter 9 but was actually reading chapter 2 and my browser apparently was trying to save me from chapter 9 by refusing to bring me to it. I appologize.
