Really have soft spot for the Rupert-Everett-as-Holmes TV movie but will definitely check this out sometime. Although Moffat's presence doesn't fill me with confidence... Doctor Who wasn't exactly known for its mystery, or its logic.

Another quality episode - not as predictable as last week's, but balanced by being a bit sillier

I liked it alot, it seemed like it was going for a more classic feel than the first one.

Second episode was great as well and this time there were no instances where the british accent prevented me from understanding any of the long winded deductions :D

Great episode but I missed an epic banter between Moriarty and one of the two like it happened in the first episode. Between the two, I think I liked the first one better even though this one had the more "holmsier" case, with the signs and whatnot.

Really love this show, thanks Sorrows for bringing it to my attention. Can only hope they will have more than three episodes.

Wait, what? You think Mycroft is Moriarty?

I liked both episodes. Interesting take on modern Holmes and all that. And I liked that someone used smarter of the two brothers Holmes. I was hoping that the mysterious guy who met Watson was him, but wasn't sure till the end of episode.

    "Is that my computer?"
    "Of course."
    "What?"
    "Mine was in the bedroom."

Not my bedroom, even though there's two bedrooms at 221b Baker. Gay Watson?

    The Ending Was Awesome O_O

The amount of cruelty shown in Moriarty's 'game' was just... wow. Though it seemed to me like they were trying to stuff a couple of episodes into one in-case the BBC didn't pick it up for another round.

When Watson came out in the suicide jacket I almost swallowed my tongue

Considering the response its gotten I'd say its a sure bet for a second season, though I hope it will have a few more episodes than this one.

    Last episode was great.

I had a feeling that gay from the beginning will be bad guy, but never though that he will be Moriarty.

Also the moment Watson showed up at the pool, I wasn't sure if they will not make him main villain.

All in all, I'm waiting for more.

One of the best shows on television. It deserves another season or two.

The dance between Holmes and Moriarty was epic. Favourite line:

    Holmes: 'Catch you... later.'

    Moriarty: 'No you won't.'

Props to the actor playing Moriarty for his entire delivery. It was simply absurd.

All three were pretty fucking awesome in their ways. Third was the best though. Totally dig the Holmes/Watson interactions.

About the third, the one I loved the most, I gotta echo the sentiments of the posters above me plus some extra bits:
    - Moriarty was hammy as all hell. Funny, creepy: "People died." "That's what people DO." was awesome.

    - Sherlock's idea of being bored was great. Same with the little things, like his interaction with Mycroft and his lacking in knowledge of the little things.

    - Watson trying to be like Sherlock once or twice was funny. One of these days, I want him to be the right one about the case. It would make for a funny dynamic change.

Totally want more next year. Can't wait.

Loved it. I was on the edge of my seat throughout.
I did find Moriaty a little distracting though; it's hard to take someone who sounds like Graham Norton seriously as a villain. Kudos to him for managing to be a very unsettling villain despite that.

It had better be back for another season!

    Edit: Oh, it will be.

Awesome show is awesome. Thumbs up DLP -- I watched this partly on your suggestion and on someone else's, but probably wouldn't have picked it up without both.

If anyone has trouble finding it, the actual title on Netflix is "Masterpiece Mystery!: Sherlock: Series 1".

I really liked this, shame the first season is only 3 episodes. Mind you, they're what, 90 mins each? Quality -> Quantity I s'pose. Glad to hear its been renewed for a 2nd season!

My definitive Holmes is Jeremy Brett in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, so I was a bit apprehensive after seeing Downey's Holmes in the film, while still brilliant, doesn't quite feel like a proper Sherlock. This is a modern take on it ofc and it really works. Trolling the press and police in the beginning was epic :D

I think Martin Freeman is a brilliant Watson however, he's a really good actor and its going to be interesting to see him as Bilbo in The Hobbit. Oh and:

FINALLY. Somewhat coincidentally, I rewatched Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 1 just a couple of days ago. After that, I was despairing that Season 2 would never come...but now it has. Can't wait until January.

It's back, and very good it was too. Well written, beautifully acted, and a great resolution to the cliffhanger. Loved the cheeky humour about the client, and the relationship between Adler and Sherlock was very nicely done.

If it weren't for the fact that it's Sherlock Holmes, I'd say that him turning up to rescue Adler at the end was stretching credulity, but...it's Sherlock Holmes.

Also, I still want his coat.

I fucking missed it on TV. Impatiently waiting for it to show up on iPlayer, now.

I cannot say how tempted I am to highlight the spoilers. Must ... not ...

And here it is, when I do another search for it. Good times.

EDIT: Excellent episode and a strong start to the season. I sincerely hope the next two instalments are up to the same level.
