anyone ever come across a fic where sirius did, indeed, betray the potters?

i know i haven't, and i'm kind of shocked by that realization. does the entirety of fandom have that much affection for black?

 

Yes, that would be cool - him placing the imperius on peter in year 3 and forcing him to confess that he was the secret keeper.

But yeah, I'm with you on this one. I can't think of any traitor!Sirius fics... although I have read one or two where he follows Harry into darkness...

 

I remember one of the In northern Stars (is that right? its the one where Sirus escapes when Harry is about 6 and rescues Harry. He ends up cleared and He, Harry and Remus live under wards for a while. In one of the sequels written my neutral(sp?) or fyre Harry is sent to another dimension where Sirus was indeed the traitor.

However that is the only fic where I can think of Traitor Sirus.

 

Seen maybe one or two and one I definitly recall was horrible.

 

Did read one and it was the greatest one I ever read.
But the story was post-GoF and Harry Centric.
Oh and it was in russian.
But Peter was also the traitor there.
They worked together all the time.
In the end Sirius transforms into his animagus form and tries to escape.
Half of Hogwarts running after him and he dies from a heart attack.
Snapes characters pretty cool in this fic too.

 

I hate Sirius, but canon is pretty much airtight on this matter. If Pettigrew had acted differently (running away, ressurecting the DL, hanging with Snape), I would be all for the idea. I don't think the lack of that plot point means everyone likes Black. Most do, unfortunately.
