    with Cypress Hill and Fergie?

"Appetite for Destruction" was the second album I ever bought as a kid so I was prepared to hate this, but it... doesn't completely suck.

Slash was born to play this music, and Fergie could definitely sing rock and roll--I have no idea why she's wasting her time with the Black Eyed Peas.

Fergie's voice was fucking surprising, but I don't think she meshes well at all with Cypress Hill. It sounded like he was trying to yell over her voice. No blending at all...

But Slash sounds great, as usual, and Fergie did a good job covering Axel Rose. Not exactly good, but not bad, either.

Eh. Doesn't have the magic of the original.

Fergie always had potential as a vocalist - in any genre, really. It's just hard to get a certain caliber of songwriter or producer when you churn out shit like "My Humps" or "Fergalicious." She did very well in this cover.

Given that I didn't think the original was a tour de force of musicianship, I actually like this better than the original.

(Actually, Mr. Brownstone is probably my favorite track from Appetite).

Original over this any day. It doesn't even compare.

I remember when this album came out; a friend of mine had the actual vinyl LP, and I was blown away by the music and the artwork inside and out. Anyone else remember the robot rapist?

Every track kicked ass in some way - even My Michelle, which is my least favorite - but for my money, Rocket Queen is the best on the record, though. Kickass music *and* lyrics.
