    That would pwn.

Am I the only person that can't fucking stand Molly? She's "feisty" and always coming along etc. And she fucked up Dresden badly in the first books.

This was my favorite book by far but I just about blew a fucking gasket when I saw that Murphy was becoming a Knight and then calmed down when she denied the job. Slightly.

If he ends up with her I will lose it >_>.

I like Dresden getting a new power - about time, I'm getting a little sick of him getting the shit stomped out of him EVERY time.

Luccio was cool, hope Dresden gets a sword from her in the next book.

    I like Marcone >_>

I was hoping that the Archive would teach Dresden some shit at some point. Would be funny.

One thing that bothered me and this happened in book 9 and 10. In book 9 Ramirez throws about a 100 of those green beams of energy that are more destructive then Dresdens fire and FAR more destructive then his wind. And the lightning I can get over because it's a Denarian.

I /really/ hope Harry takes up Lasciels coin >_>

    Also: Is Nicodemus dead?

Dresden went all Denarian Renegade on Nicodemus's ass. Dunno if he's dead, I'll probably check the Jim Butcher forums for theories, they catch the small stuff that might say whether or not he is.

It's going to be awesome to see how much more powerful Harry gets as the series goes on. Hell, he's got Merlin beat on the sword stuff and he's got Uriel watching over him. Already I can't wait until the next book, it's going to kick ass.

The way it looked in the book suggests Nicodemus is dead, what with the strangling him for a good thirty seconds after he passed out, then dumping the body over the side. Still, I liked him, I hope he lives.

Nope. 8 months- a year from now (unless Butcher loses some inspiration) the title for the new work will be released. A month or three after that the cover art and release date will be shown/announced, and in the final month or two leading up to the release teaser chapters will be released.

Good news. I did some looking and, supposedly, Jim has released Book 11's name in a book signing in San Diego.

Jim will probably either confirm or deny this later, but...

The Next book is, supposedly, called Turn Coat, and starts with Morgan asking Harry to hide him from the Warden.

Edit: Correction, It has been confirmed.

Yea I'm pretty sure Nicodemus is pretty much dead as he was strangled with the thing that makes him immortal, but Anduriel is still out there and Namshiel is too... so Harry's got his work cut out for him.

If Murphy becomes a knight I'm killing something cute...

I don't think Nicodemus is dead. Sure, he got strangled for so long after passing out and dumped into the water, but... Dresden didn't check to see. He couldn't have, obviously, but the point remains. If you don't check to see if they're dead, they aren't dead.

How would having a bunch of dead people help Nicodemus?;)

It seemed to me that Butcher was hinting that Harry and Nicodemus will actually work together briefly in the future in regards to the Black Council and Nicodemus's wife, so I don't think he is dead yet.

... Nicodemus is a Denarian correct? So even if the host dies, the Fallen lives on. Harry never got that coin when he killed (most probably) the host body. So either Nicodemus, as in the host, is dead, but the coin will go on to another and Harry will still have to deal with it – or the host didn’t die, and Harry will still have to deal with it. Either way, trouble for Dresden.

Yeah but the big trouble with Nicodemus was the I'm-Immortal-Rope. After 2000 thousand years, then throttling someone followed by being dumped in the lake... I figure it's destroyed by now.

Well I finally finished it, and sadly I wasn't too impressed. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the read immensely but I don't think it was one of Butcher's best for a number of reasons.

First was the fleshing out of characters. While reading I got the distinct impression that Butcher was trying to stuff everyone he could into the story without elaborating further or exploring the character further. For example, Thomas.

I understand that the last book was Thomas heavy and reader's will probably want something different in this one, but can't Dresden have him do something other than be the chauffeur because he got a damned Hummer? Here we have a super-strong, super agile vampire/succubus, and all he seems to do is drive people from point A to B. I would think he is more than capable to fight some Denarians.

Michael's fate pissed me off too. I understand it was foreshadowed that his time as a Knight was coming to an end, but what a lame way to go for such an awesome character. Here we have a character who has kicked all sorts of ass, and in my opinion deserves a worthwhile death, and instead we're treated to a wheelchair ridden, soup-fed cripple. And how does this occur? Oh yeah, bullets were bouncing around inside his armor. Just a few books ago, wasn't he avoiding bullets through some godly interventions, what happened this time? And while yes his fate was left unresolved, seeing as Butcher likes to favor a slow, realistic healing process (Harry's left hand), I don't think we can expect a mobile Michael anytime soon.

The Faeries seemed a but underdeveloped as well. We still haven't been told what the hell happened to Leaninsidhe (sp?) in the last book, what that dagger she had was, and now something happened to Mab's voice which a hint as to why wasn't even given. Second, the Summer Fae subplot seemed weak, and it didn't appear to have a well explained reason as to why they were going after Harry. It looked to me like they were just a way to further the plot along, and to get Harry where he needed to be (Though the Older Gruff scene kicked ass).

Murphy takes the prize though for most under-developed character in this book though. I pretty sure her only line throughout the entire novel was "i swore an oath to protect the people of Chicago.." Christ lady we get it already, you like being a cop. And the scene were she sees Kincaid as a father figure was crap, She obviously knows he's a mass murderer, so I just don't see an emotional connection there. I took there fling in Hawaii as a passion/lust thing which seemed more reasonable than an actual romance.

I also got pissed off that Lasciel was officially gone for good. I would of liked to see her make a come back but oh well.

I think one of the more cliche parts of the book the was the shouting to God in the chapel scene at the end. Did anyone else find that corny? And then comes the wise janitor who's actually an archangel in disguise to explain, come on. At least it wasn't God, that would of been way over done.

On a side note I think Michael should consider renaming his house the Catholic Batcave with the amount of time people convened there to scheme in this book.
