I saw this in another thread and thought it deserved its own topic.

So if DLP were to get a soundtrack what should be in it?
Opinions please.

I think while having popular (or not) artists' work on a soundtrack is nice, original music might be better. I know there's some talent out there in the bowels of this site.

I say nay, because what the hell are we going to do with a soundtrack of all things? What is the purpose?

 

we could do a cover of a song widely know, I nominate Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy. We should be able to get people from this board with enough musical knowledge to easily do it, or we could make an origional, but that gets harder as alot of file swaping takes place. I nearly have a song finished thats an origional that could be added on, I have the guitar nearly done and the drums done. Just have to record it soon. Your thoughts.

 

It's not gonna fly. Can you imagine listening to the same tune over and over again?

 

Well why not have a list of songs that it cycles throuh? and you could always have a mute button like on other sites I've seen.

 

As long as it's off by default, or your preference is saved to your account.

 

I don't think that I even like any of the artists that have been "nominated", and since everyone has different music preferences, the whole thing might become an argument on what is put on and what isn't or whether the music should play by default or not. Also, it would dramatically slow down the site and put strain on Raven's server, which I'm sure he would not like at all.

 

Good point. But still what song(s) do you think best fit the site?
