I was looking for two specific stories. They didn't warrant an upload to my favorites pages and I am pretty sure neither of them is in the Library or even considered good enough to be even mentioned on DLP. Yet, at the same time, I can't seem to get them out of my head. You know the feeling. A combination of guilty pleasure and it just being too much of a train wreck to look away.

The first is a rather bad story that features a Harry/Andromeda pairing. Yes, I exhausted the search function on FFN, and no, it is not listed under that pairing. There are sadly few things I remember. It was bit of a dark/independent Harry story, in which he has a (sexual) relationship with Andromeda, but in this relationship, she is something of a plus one to Harry's real girlfriend (though he might have picked up a girlfriend after getting cosy with Andromeda and there is possibly more than one girlfriend). It takes up heavily in the action and fighting part, with some politics and I think Dumbledore bashing thrown in, some of the usual cliches. The writing, from what I remember, was not all that good. However, it was a complete story, even if I am not sure it is listed as such. (It was about 40K words, give or take.)

If any of this rings any bells, please tell me.

Another one I am looking for is a HP/Spiderman crossover. It has Peter Parker being a wizard and somehow related to Harry I think (yes, yes, cliche). Both Peter and Kitty (Shadowcat) come to Hogwarts and actually learn magic (5th or 6th year), while keeping their own powers. It was a rather long fic. There is one I can find on FFN with about a dozen chapters, that seems to start out pretty much the same as this one did, but the one I am referring to was at least 70K words, not the 20K or something one I can find. The writing here was decent, I believe, though nothing spectacular.

Any help would be appreciated. I realize these details are lacking, but if I had more, I probably would have found them myself already.

 

Fairly sure this first one is 'A True Daughter of the Black' by 1411eastwest. The author has been renamed and their stories removed, so I can't tell you how to find a copy, but at least you'll have some 'closure', knowing why you can't track it down.

By my recollection, it was a decently well-written political story, but some of the emotional scenes were given insufficient 'screen time' to properly reveal themselves- sorta the anti-wangst. For that alone, I'm bummed that it's gone.

 

Ah... That's the one with Cardinal Wiwa, H/LL, complete asshole Bill... Actually, a defining trait of that story was that there was scarcely anyone in it that didn't qualify for the title of "Major douchebag" on at least some level.

Right! Thanks a lot, even if I still can't read it. Yes, I remember reading something about that author disappearing. Didn't he post something here, or was he posted about on DLP at least?

In any case, does anyone have a download file of that story? Or is it lost to time forever?

 

He was generally well looked upon in the almost recommended thread I think, but I don't remember him ever showing up. His stories weren't exactly great, but at the same time the "rat bastardry" was fairly amusing and I don't regret having read them. They sort of felt like my old European history class did, in that a lot of people were jerks and everybody kept dying.
