Doubtful. Magneto's a dick to his kids. He's the type of guy who'd want his children raised in such a manner so that he can more easily indoctrinate them into hating non-mutants.

Anyway, I liked though movie, though I had my suspension of disbelief was stretched pretty thin at the though that not a single hero, not just Avengers, responded to all the chaos and the ridiculous death toll.

Why? If any of the Avengers saw the news or were alerted, they'd contact SHIELD. Hydra assures them that it's being taken care of, it's an internal matter, blah blah blah. Thor has no way of knowing, Banner is off and would have to rely on SHIELD, Stark'd get nothing, and Hawkeye may be recovering from being Loki's thrall or on a deep cover mission. It was maybe three days tops, with only a few hours of the last day being big enough for any of them to worry about Cap handling it.

I'll admit a few throwaway lines would be nice.

I'm sure that Stark would realize that a manhunt for Captain America meant something fishy was up and investigate. Anyway, you're right. It isn't that big of a deal and could have easily been cleared up with a few throwaway liens.

True, I'm surprised he doesn't already know all of Hydras plots.

A parasite organisation hiding under the nose of THE spy has probably learned to avoid leaving anything resembling a paper trail beyond the shit identifying them as anything beyond a SHIELD unit.

I was referring to overriding whatever primitive defences they had and fucking with whatever they were using to track cap.

    That or hack the gunships.

Stark's good, but HYDRA's being setting this up for decades. Not to mention, most of this stuff happens in a fairly small time period. I believe someone stated in an interview somewhere that Hawkeye was off the grid for reasons that will be laid out in Age of Ultron. Stark and Banner are doing their thing in Avengers Tower, I agree Stark might look into tracking down Captain America but with Fury dead, SHIELD's in disarray and there's no-one he trusts there anyway. He doesn't have enough information or hold over SHIELD resources, I think, to actively fuck with their tracking of the Captain, especially considering a lot of those sequences are also fairly fast-paced. Cap not going to him makes sense because that's something HYDRA'd expect, whereas Falcon's a guy he just randomly knows.

He hacked right into their systems for fun in avengers, lol.

    'Their', being Hydra.

HYDRA's systems? When is that? He hacked into the helicarrier systems to access their Phase 2 plans, but he was on site, and had a general idea of what to look for. Hacking into the entire SHIELD network on such a large level would be something else entirely.

In all honesty, I was kinda surprised that they didn't go to him for help with the USB, what with Tony being kinda good at the tech thing.

Yeah, but that's the thing, right? It's the first place someone would look, they probably have his place under surveillance anyway.

That's how I justified it in my head, but at least a few lines to mention it would have been nice.

    Shield = Hydra, pretty much...

I'm not going to debate the effectiveness of fictional hacking, but suffice it to say, if he could so easily access super top secret SHIELD Intel, i doubt one could logically ever stop him walking in and out of the system.

So I think I heard something that piqued my interest, not sure if anyone else picked it up. In the scene where the guy (can't remember who) is listing off people who would be targeted by the helicarriers as a potential threat, I could have sworn that I heard Steven Strange being mentioned in the same breath as Bruce Banner. Has there been any word on including the Sorcerer Supreme in the Avengers? Or was this just a mythology gag?

And am I seeing the correct poster for Avengers 2 when I see Spiderman on the front? Or is it a fan-made poster or something. Because I could swear the Sony had the rights to Spiderman.

Confirmed by the producers that it's just them establishing that he exists. That said, he is one of the main choices for a new character to be introduced in the Phase Three.

Fan-made. There were talks between Sony and Marvel about a potential crossover (there was suppose to be the Oscorp Tower in The Avengers), but it's unlikely to be happening anytime soon.

They're still filming Avengers 2, so I doubt they've got as far as a poster for it...and yes, Spidey is stuck with Sony. Stephen Strange though is going to happen, probably not in Avengers 2, but they've announced a film for him. Careful mentioning it though; they've implied that his magic will actually be specialised quantum physics, so it's already controversial.

Edit for the unexpected Polish ninja....

Another thing - if Bucky was the person who killed Starks parents which seems highly likely... and he becomes the new Captain later on, thats gonna be nice and awkward.

So, was Obadiah Stane a HYDRA? I always thought that it was dumb of him to sell weapons to terrorists for a paltry sum, when he could rake billions of dollars on official DOD contracts while being squeaky clean.

HYDRA's already admitted to fomenting chaos across the world, but they're hardly the only ones who'd profit from it. Stane was, remember, the Ironmonger. He'd profit not only from DoD deals, but from the need for Stark tech to be at the front lines. The more dangerous terrorists armed with high tech weaponry that keep popping up, the more companies like Stark are going to be kept in lucrative business.

It's possible that Stane was HYDRA, but honestly I'd prefer it if every single bad guy didn't come back to one 'evil' organization that does everything. There should be multiple players on both sides of the field.
