I'm looking for stories with a squib main character. Could be an OC or not. A few stories come to mind with Harry as a squib, but I can't remember titles or authors for most of them. Only one I can produce a link to is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5994260/1/Enough_Trouble_for_a_Lifetime

Anyway, I'm just interested in the idea of magicless characters in a world of magic.

 

You've probably read Almost a Squib by BajaB, but if not, do so. Rorschach's Blot's Old Soldiers Never Die features Squibs prominently throughout.

 

The only thing that springs to mind is this. It's not fantastic or mind blowing or anything, but it fits what you're looking for. Read it a while ago, did well as a guilty pleasure. That said, I don't think I'd ever re-read it.

Harry is a main character along with a muggle girl, but he might as well be a muggle for a fair bit of the story what with how little magic he uses.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, and it's about Dudley Dursley. It's complete, though, and I remember it being quite good, so it might be worth a look.

Amerision's Lost Time features a Harry who isn't quite a squib, but is almost there. It's very well written. Definitely recommend you check it out.

It's quite polarizing, and it seems to me that DLPers either love it or hate it. Personally, I loved it.

 

This is a fandom about magic, so muggles and squibs just don't seem as interesting, exp as main characters.

 

Sorry to derail, but at what point did "especially" gain an "x"? "Exp" to me, means "Experience Points". Also, the OP specifically requested muggle/squib-centric stories. Considering that this is the "Story Search" section and not the "Statistically Average Harry Potter Fanfiction" section, I think it's totally reasonable for the OP to ask and to receive. Other than ontologically existing as a post in and of itself, what did you hope to achieve by posting this reply? :facepalm

Anyway, "A Squib Worth" was quite good, and I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

 

Perhaps you'd enjoy this one. It's a oneshot featuring a Muggle OC as one of the main characters, and it explores some interesting aspects of the collision between the Muggle and magical worlds.

It's actually a pretty decent story, as I remember it. The writing is pretty good, grammar is fine. It's over 600k words total, and it's entertaining from start to finish, imo.

Harry meets this muggle (who is the main character in the story) and they date while he's in hiding in his 6th year. Eventually, they stop dating by the end of the first story, and YES, it turns Harry/Ginny. But that's not really followed much, and the second story revolves around Muggle!OC/George, and it's pretty well done. She has to go to Hogwarts to hide from people trying to kill her (I think) and then there's quite a nicely done bit about how everyone does everything they can to make sure no one suspects she's a muggle.

A good thing about the series is that it's completed, and try to not judge too harshly. Unless I'm mistaken, it was before book 5 even came out that this thing was done.
