I admit that it's not the best story around. However, it has been pretty entertaining so far and I'm sufficiently hooked enough to stick with it. Darth Marrs' writing style is odd in some ways (I feel like I'm removed from the story at times instead of inside of it, if that makes any sense), but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Awesome! enembee's stuff is great. Make sure you check out the sequel (in the Work By Author section) titled Conlaodh's Song.

Mmmm. Maybe. Just his summaries really turn me off to his shit. The last son of this, Superman that.... It makes it look like he is writing the same story over and over, in 9 unrefreshing fashions for your chewing displeasure.

I prefer the Pre-Bane old republic era anyway. >_> I've lost most of my hope for that section of the fandom a long time ago. Kotorfanmedia... You will feel my wrath.

I never really played Kotor so the only things I know about the older Star Wars era are the glimpses we got in the EU books with what like the Sith Master being trapped in Yavin 4 and all that.

But then again, that time never really interested me that much to begin with. People like Kyle Katarn (the games), Corren Horn and the X-Wing Squad and the Thrawn Characters were much more interesting.

And the normal cast of course, well, except Luke. I never really liked Luke all that much.

Anyone read Shadows of the Empire, a.k.a. the best Star Wars book ever?

@JenosIdanian : dude, comparing Yoda to Dobby? Fail man, fail. :D

Darth Marrs' stories aren't terrible, I've read the Superman crossover ones, which I actually really liked, and I'm currently reading the Last Jedi one. The summery made me wary at first but it's actually a pretty good time waster fic, nothing amazing but still readable. As for Star Wars itself, KOTOR era and the like has got to be my favourite kinda time, even if the whole never changing tech-levels don't exactly make much sense.

You should look into it. I don't like Bane at all, but he's an interesting character... As well as his entire conflict. The Watchcircle/Zayne portion of the KotOR comics is pretty cool too. And See below.

Yeah... The Tech thing... kind of strange... but honestly, the Old Republic was pretty awesome. It was, for the most part, a constant state of war till around Bane.. Lot of interesting characters... Ulic Qel-Droma... Zayne... Hell Nadd and Ragnos. There is a sith who pops up in the Legacy comics with Cade and the new sith order that had been alive since Revan...

Given, he was a walking corpse by that time, but still.

Post-canon wasn't ... too bad for a while. Then the Vong turned up. It was awesome in the beginning, but it just got drawn out too long. Then Jacen kills Mara, Jania doesn't go full on Sith in NJO.... :/

Katarn was cool. I liked him for a while. Thrawn I can't stand anymore. He was awesome for a while. Then every gets on his dick like he's the single greatest character ever.

The only time I really found Luke interesting was the Dark Empire series...

If you're referring to Perry's book mid-original-trilogy... I hated it, honestly...

The Old Republic era also gets awesome points for the fact it has a Dinosaur Jedi.

God, I hate Luke. One of the most boring characters in the entire Star Wars universe.

Agreed, he's just dull. Just about every other character outshone him at every turn.

Ho-Ly-Sh-It. Seriously? They can't be... they are serious! Lucas must have green-lighted this in the middle of drinking games during Shark Week.

Drinking games. Shark Week. Speaking of...

Star Wars is starting to resemble rule 34, If it exists there is a Jedi of it.

I actually don't mind the Gungans themselves, but the fact they gave us Jar-Jar Binks is pretty unforgivable.

I'll give the Gungans this and ONLY this: Those EMP death grenades, while a deus ex machina for them (OMFGZ TEH ENEMIYS IS DA ROBOATS, KILLZ IT WIT ELEKTRISITIES!), were pretty bad-ass.

Why the Republic never used those I'll never know.

I found Jar-Jar to be pretty fucking funny with his talking ability. Revan Bloodraven has always been my favorite Dark Lord of the Sith (minus his turning good) ever since I played KOTOR. My second favorite is followed by Grand Admiral Thrawn, 3rd is Darth Vader, and then 4th is Darth Sidious.

I think Sidious and Revan are equal in power. Vader not so much due to his handicap of his suit. I've even read quite a few stories on ff.net and another place that Vader gets his original body back due to the Kamino's (sp?) ability of cloning.

Sidious equal to Revan? Are you fucking kidding me? No way. Revan could kick Sidious's ass without breaking a sweat.
