Spoilery interview with Dave Filoni about the finale and S3.

The helicopter thing was the only issue I had. That was right up there with the best of the Clone Wars episodes for me. Few thoughts:

- Maul was done so much better than I thought he'd be - they did a fine job of hooking you in to think he might actually help there for a bit, before the inevitable turnabout. It's a nice contrast to see just how much of a different class the senior force-users are compared to Kanan and Ezra -they can barely handle the inquisitors, and then Maul comes along and decimates all of them, at the same time no less in some parts. Still a complete badass, despite being half the sith he used to be. #dadjokes

- The switch between James Earl Jones and Matt Lanter's voice when Ahsoka wrecks his mask was an amazing touch of detail.

- I really expected a bit more emotion from Anakin, like this would have been his last bit of humanity before Luke shows up. Apparently not.

- The last bit with Kanan using other senses/the force was handled great. The Miraluka-style headband at the end was cool.

- HOLY SHIT MALACHOR OLD REPUBLIC WOOOOOOOOOooo... Yeah. I guess they're not going to use as much of the Old Republic lore as I'd like to see, but that was still a nice touch on it, especially them talking about the battlefield.

 

Is it just me, or is Kanan supposed to be Rahm Kota? Like, eerily so, especially after that episode.

 

The helisabers were hilarious.

 

Kanan is basically, visually speaking, a Kyle Katarn ripoff.

He comes in package with his own not!Jan Ors, who's voiced by Jan's VA from Jedi Outcast.
