Probably nonsense, but I heard a rumour about the first wave of beta/early-access invites going out this weekend.

Fingers crossed anyway.

 

First round of beta invites went out for the weekend beta test. Devs have stated they are going to increase the number of invites each weekend based on results. Dunno if it just for NA and Europe, but here is hoping they include those outside the initial launch areas.

 

They've also stated that you only get one weekend.

 

Sounds incredibly awesome.

 

The beta invites for this weekend in NA went out this wednesday. Europe invites apparantly hit a snag according to Reid, should come out early next week. EU invites will be consistent ones though (confirmed) but EU weekend invites should be starting to get sent next wednesday based on what they've said (personal speculation). Oh, and no beta outside launch contries, sorry aussies.

The invites currently being sent out is weekend only in NA, but there still is the consistent testers though.

I will now be making a Smuggler in this game if for no other reason at all than to drop kick people in the balls in PvP. You may have Force Lightning but try casting with my combat boot implanted in your crotch bitch.

So, hey, at least now I know which way they're going to go with game balance: making the Force users un-canonically unbalanced for the sake of gameplay. That smuggler video was almost as bad as watching Anakin drop to his knees and crawl to grab his lightsaber when Cad Bane took it from him in Clone Wars. Almost.

Why bother tying it to the Old Republic setting at all if they're just going to rape the lore and destroy some of their better characters. This game is looking more shit with each passing info leak.

 

No, I don't. But that attitude the video has towards Jedi/Sith: "they're just overly-flashy impractical moronic warriors (who apparently don't have the Force)" is telling.
I mean, canonically speaking, a single ten year old kid managed to deflect constant fire from five or so sources with blaster rifles (not pistols or carbines) for more than 10ish seconds: yet an apparent Sith Lord just gets shot whiel spinning his lightsaber? Please.

Maybe it's just me, but is there anyone else here who thinks they should just pull the entire dev team off this project and assign them to remaking 'TIE Fighter'?

Say about Revan? It shows a group fighting Revan. And killing him at level 32, along with HK-47 (who is somehow actually the harder boss to fight).

 

Get real. It's a promotional video for the Smuggler class. Not a visualization of canon lore. Also, gamewise, would you enjoy playing a bounty hunter, smuggler or whatever if a dozen of you couldn't take down a single force user?
