Hahahah, that's what facing base AI is actually for, Rehio; figuring that shit out. :p

Is that in the SCII program? I kinda gave up on a tutorial when I saw single player blacked out, and figured I'd throw myself to the lions.

Oh, and the only strategy I've made work is a zergling rush. I feel so pathetic, but so happy that an old method still works.

It only works because as a Zerg, the opponents are expecting roaches and they're fucked if they don't scout properly.

Also, just create a custom game and play 1 on 1 vs computer. It's private until you say otherwise. The base AI is very, very weak, which is perfect for fucking around with shit.

    Yeah, I'm in Bronze.

I.. I'm not sure I like Zerg. Which is a horrible thing, as I've always been For The Overmind.

I'm just not sure which units are, you know, good, anymore. I'm probably thinking of the original Starcraft too much, and I keep trying to create comparisons ("This unit is.. like a wraith?") when it doesn't really work.

Just gotta go experiment more with the computer and figure it out. It'd be nice to be able to set the level of my opponent.

As long as you DON'T use roaches and manage to keep your opponent from scouting, you're pretty much guaranteed to win as Zerg (because, y'know, every Zerg uses roaches now; the only ones I've lost to- or had trouble with- have either attacked at the right time or not used roaches).

EDIT: Holy shit, I just finished a really intense match- it was 37 minutes long. Or, uh, 51 minutes long according to the game and the website; I guess that's because it defaults to Fast instead of Faster? Have a replay.

Are there any advices on how to get a BETA key? I have been looking for some time now, but didn't manage to get one.

    Ditto that.

Also, my friend got into Gold league within his first two hours of playing the game lol. I'll probably end up doing the same if I get the Beta since we're about the same level. Gonna find out on Saturday when I go over to his place to try it out XD.

Have a decent computer and hope you get an opt-in key. Otherwise, try and know someone and hope another round of friend keys are sent out.

However, in an interview about a month ago, Browder said that they were looking for approximately 10,000 concurrent users at most times of the day, and whenever I'm on they've pretty much hit that at high 8000's even during Australian times. Should be noted that after that interview, the friend keys went out, helping them achieve the 10,000.

You could also move to Korea, certain PC Rooms (very very very common in Korea, like two on every block) are going to have open beta clients for people to play on.

They're usually around 10k when I'm around, if I remember correctly.

With all reports about the number of people already participating in the beta I was starting to get used to the idea of playing against the StarCrack AI till the full version came out, but I got my key today, so maybe it's still worth checking battle.net accounts.

First of all I haven't read the 7 pages of this thread, so sorry if my question has already been answered.

I got a Beta Key from a friend the other day. I have a Battle.net account from World of Warcraft (apparently my old WC2 account was inactive long enough it ceased to exist, or something) so that's done. But when I go in to my account management I can't see anywhere to enter my Beta Key or to download the game so I can enter it there.

Where the hell do you use the key at and/or download the game?

Go to the Battle.net website, type in the key with the "Add Game" button and use that to download.

Ah shit. The key is at home and I'm not, and I can't download a file that big from home. I was hoping to download it tonight then enter the key later, guess that was stupid.

    Anyway, thanks.

I'm Falcon.risk if that matters to anyone (for now, I'm assuming that we'll have to get new ones or at least re-do old names for the actual release)

I made it briefly into the Bronze League for both 1v1 and 2v2 but have since fallen out of it and back into Copper. So I suck. I am having a hell of a fun time though.

Lucky bastards XD. I think my computer is too crappy to get chosen or something like that. I could only run it on medium without lag on the AI.

Someone gave me their "friend key." I didn't opt in to get a key myself. I've had it on mostly low settings but it runs like a charm on my laptop (since I don't have a desktop).
