    No.

    FTL is slower than HyperSpace.

Hyperspace based travel can go up to 100x Speed of Light

    FTL = Faster Than Light

Nothing can travel faster than light. Thats what Mckay said in SGA, when the Ancient ship that was traveling at .9999 the speed of light. Plus thats what our science says too.
    Hyperspace is something like subspace.

Hyperspace enables them to travel distances quicker than light would, thus it is FTL travel. As in they get there Faster than Light.

Destiny manages FTL without going into Hyperspace. No freaking idea how.

    Because it's teh awesomesauce.

Watching the latest episode tonight. You'll likely see my bitching about it here later.

    Edit: Alright, watched it.

My Rush-hate briefly, briefly, turned to Rush-pity for a second there at the end. Then I lol'd at him. Haha bastard, haha. I also lol'd at Sgt. Spencer. I'm glad he's gone.

Now that I'm done being a bastard: I think Rush is going to fix up that alien ship, or die trying. What he does from there, who knows. This episode was good, but now I have to wait until next year to see more. D:

You'd think it'd suck a whole lot. Being millions of years old and all that.

Because it's a science fiction show, and until the characters themselves sit down and discuss something similar, it'll probably never come up... so who gives a shit?

Am I forgetting something or couldn't he just catch up through the Stargates if he found out the course that the Destiny takes?

I'm not that steeped in Stargate lore so correct me if that doesn't work.

I'm not sure how these Stargates specifically could work in that sense, or that Rush has the remote to dial the gate at all... An even if he did, how would he know which planets to go to? *Shrug* Interesting idea for the future, though.

    Just watched.

    Word.

    Just word.

    Young is fucking batshit.

Rush.. yeah, he had to know it'd backfire on him.

Dunno where Eli's priorities are at.

Rush wins. Not only cus' its Robert Carlyle... but I think he's got his priorities right. I'd want to understand and take control of the ship. I'm still waiting for Eli to stop listening to madman Young and team up with Rush. And preferably Eli could actually grow a pair.

    Spoilers for ep 10
I knew as soon as Young said he was coming along to the crashed ship that he was gonna leave Rush there. I'll admit that I first thought it was asian girl who's listening to that creepy dude on Earth who represents a group with "special interests" or whatever he called it... the guy that feels like a lobbyist.. and she framed Young to get control of the ship. But it was Rush... I know he'll do what he deems necessary but, it seemed a bit out of character for him... Can't wait for him to get back onboard and have a nice lil' ol' confrontation :D I hope Rush pwns him.

I agree and I was fine with what Rush did but I was just disappointed he got caught by something so basic.

Now that was a cool episode! It figures that they'd wait 'till the mid-season finale to do something better than all the bullshit emo-drama that was going on for a while there. I too am seriously pulling for Rush. I can't wait to see the look on Young's face when Rush inevitably shows up for payback.

One problem with Justice, which I shall spoiler tag (even though I'm pretty sure anyone who still gives a shit about SGU has already seen it):
Way back in Air, Part 3, we see Eli keeping his arm in the Stargate, causing Destiny's failsafes to prevent it from disengaging the wormhole. Essentially, he held the door open while the rest of the crew made it back.

In Justice, we're supposed to believe that a group of scientists and all the military personnell on that ship completely forgot about that particular act of bravery, deciding instead to stand around like a bunch of lemons watching the gate timer count down and wondering if their lead scientist and commanding officer were going to come through at the last second. They were going for suspense, but I just facepalmed.

Apart from that, what a completely fucking epic episode. Hell of a payoff after all that Rush v Young buildup. Chloe and Wray finally do something interesting. Greer is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters.

Apparently Justice wasn't originally written to be the midseason finale, but ended up that way after the Darkness/Light story was split into two episodes. The next episode, Space, was supposed to be the exciting cliffhanger. If it's anything near as good as Justice was, SGU is going to be a lot more interesting next year.

Matter can only travel one way through an open wormhole. Only Rush and Young were on the side with the opening, and Young wasn't about to do it.

    ...Yeah I dunno.

In SG1 O'neil held a stargate open from the other end.

-shrugs.- Another series another set of rules I suppose.

One of the team who were sent back early should have stayed on the planet to hold the gate. That should be rule #1 of gate travel on board that ship. Someone always stays behind to hold the gate.

The "official" word is that if someone else dials your gate, walking into that wormhole would've killed you, while the person who dialled it could travel fine.

The O'Neill thing was a pretty blatant fuck-up on the writer's part, which has been acknowledged.

Alternatively though, I'm sure the Destiny crew could, if they wanted an extra 38 minutes on a planet, have one person stick their arm in and wait it out so the offworlders have time to get back safe and sound with 38 minutes of pressure instead of a few minutes. The problem with that would be if the Destiny could hold on that long, or if it would shut the gate off after a time because it's impatient (Remember the groaning sound from Air 3? That might've indicated the Destiny wanting to get going right there and then)?

Just in case some of you didn't know, new episodes of SGU started yesterday.

I thought "Space" was very good, like the new aliens.
