It was pretty damn filler-ific, but I still loved "Time".

Hell, I'm a woman and I can't get into this show. The plot is moving extremely slow, and time travel is always a cop-out. And I really can't stand Chloe.

And whoever said that Universe is better than SG-1 is smoking something heavy and they need to share.

To filter the air they went to the Desert planet and brought back something that takes their water.
To get water they went to the Ice planet(Hoth), and brought back a microorganism that will kill the all.
To kill the microorganism they need the venom of a Nocturnal creature from a Jungle planet that could kill them all.

To me, its better than the whole whole "We did something with no negative consequences" the the other two shows did. Yeah they had negative consequences but not every other week. Watch the test/experiment that Colonel Telford did is gonna come back to bite them on the ass.
SGU has the constant fight for survival. Air, Water, Food, Energy(kind of taken care of), Medicine, and Control.

And when they need to relax, they'll go to the Vegas planet and bring back several diseases that will deplete their antibiotics supply.

No, they go to the Topical planet. The one in the previews that had Chole skinny dipping.

Naw, I take it back now that I am further through. I will say this though, SGU is better than the first 2 seasons of SG1, and maybe a few of S3. S4 is getting amazing though. I'm starting to love SG1 now.

However, and as weird as it may seem, I am really enjoying SGU. The plot doesn't bother me, but then again, it has about as much plot as i've seen in SG1. Perhaps that changes later on, but I don't know. The only thing it is really lacking in, is some of the characters are... hatable. Chloe, Tellford and a few others are annoying. Same with Eli, I mean, he has to start making himself useful instead of being a self insert for every geek out there.

Also, while this probably isn't really the place, does anyone know of any good stargate fanfiction? I don't really care if they are xovers, as long as I know the other universe. I'm pretty sure i've got most of the HP/SG1 xovers covered though.

"Time" was a great episode, I liked it quite a bit. One of the best since SG-1's "Meridian"...or maybe "Abyss" or "Threads"

I got to see Chloe die TWICE, woohoo!

The reset, eh, knew it would happen...which kinda makes the whole episode pointless. :( But oh well.

And Chloe brings back one of those worm-y things that go up the urinal tract if you pee in the water!

Enjoyable, though the final reset was pretty annoying. You knew it was coming when the team on the planet got slaughtered, since they wouldn't axe that many characters at one time.

I was kinda hoping the team on the planet would be successful but Chloe would still die because it took too long. She's draggin Scott and Eli down character-wise for me.

This is probably answered somewhere in the thread - but I'll give it a go:

I've been interested in Stargate. I tried watching the first movie (the one released in 1995~) to see if I could get interested...

God was it awful. I was lolling by the end of the first scene. I take it I should be starting with the television series? Where do I begin? What seasons, et cetera?

Chime, go to HULU, first season of Stargate 1 is there for free. That follows the first film. It will feel dated either way you look at it, because it really is from quite a while ago, but that is what made this 'universe' popular.

on topic of latest episode: When lt. James died, I was pissed. Taking away the one useful woman (yes my definition of that is drawn from her underwear scene) and when Chloe died I was at once ecstatic and annoyed; I knew they couldn't kill her off and there would be some deus ex machina about to happen, but I was happy because Lt. James would come back.

And Eli...you need to confess and get horribly turned down bro.

Well, I just saw all 8 episodes so far and I'm still not too sure whether I like it or not. Eli, Greer and Rush are epic and I loved watching Greer bitch slap that other marine. I don't really get all the Chloe hate though. She seems to be playing such a small role that it's hard to care about her either way.

I think time tried to do to much.
The man vs monster plot could have been a great stand alone halloween show.

The sickness and find a cure bit would have been a great time to let us know more about the crew, dying last words, flashbacks yadda yadda.

The time travel rewriting reality would have a great thinking show.

I feel shortchanged, At the very least they should have had Eli get sick and had one of the lesser co stars take up the narration device.

    But what do I know?

Now THAT was a pretty shit episode. At least we got to see the finale between Young and Tellford with his wife.

Rush is really making himself look stupid again as well. :/

Most boring episode so far. At least, the next ones should be more interesting if Rush or anyone else decides to use the proto-Ancient Repository of Knowledge.

Maybe it's time to start watching again.
I've been dodging since that whole "Eli and Chloe use the creepy possession stones to go back to Earth and get laid" episode.

Yeah, and neither of them actually got laid in that episode. Or since then.

Oh well, they can't all be winners, but there'll be plenty of whiners!
