Shezza88, are you interested in writing a new HP/Stargate fic?

The new episode of SG1, s10e03, was quite good, and we got to meet Morgan le Fay. But Atlantis, s03e03, was a disappointment.

Finally they manage to destroy an Ori Warship, and they do it by blowing up a Wraith Hiveship.

I saw the new episodes last night. I've always preferred SG-1 to Atlantis anyway. Do you know how many episodes there are until 200. I can't wait for Anderson's return even if it is temporary. Next episode is about Ba'al and his clones. I don't understand what they are talking about with linking stargates though. Isn't Atlantis on Earth? I thought the system was meant to link Earth and Atlantis. Or was it to connect galaxies?

What are you talking about? Atlantis is in the Pegasus galaxy. So not on Earth.

McKay talked about deploying Stargates between the Milky Way and Pegasus. The reason for that is because you need a Zero-Point-Modulator (or something that can generate that amount of power) to dial 8 symbols and between Galaxies. And only Atlantis have a ZPM so they can only dial Earth.

The Stargate can only transport matter streams in one way, so they can only send things from Atlantis to Earth.

So they want to deploy many Stargates between the two galaxies so they can make small jumps from Earth-Atlantis without dialing 8 symbols. And that would take 30 minutes instead of 3 weeks.

I am fairly sure I am right, but I might be wrong.

Oops.:wall: I missed the entire season that showed them finding Atlantis because I just recently got access to SciFi channel. I try to watch the reruns they show, but I usually don't get the time. Your explanation makes sense, I'll have to buy or rent a couple of seasons.

Cheers for the 200th episode of SG-1! It's hard to believe it has been 200, because it still feels fresh. Glad to see Anderson back.

Don't count SG-1 out just yet:

They're trying to find another network for it. The show, if it does go on, will lose the ability to have clean crossovers with Atlantis, but at least it will still exist. The sci fi channel is so stupid. SG-1 is pretty much their only strong show, and they cancel it. Brilliant.

If they cancel SG-1, I'm gonna be really pissed. I prefer it immensely over Atlantis. Plus I'm not sure if I'll have the channel that picks it up.

You have got to be kidding me! S-G1 is the only show sci-fi has right now. Almost everyone prefers it over Atlantis. They can't cancel one of the channels' biggest shows. Then the only thing we would be stuck with is Eureka and those really bad sci-fi movies.

I heard that MGM was going to talk to G4 about showing it there. I think they would lose ratings if they did. I just hope they don't put it on showtime or some other channel that isn't included in my Dish package. Also was I only one disappointed with the 200th episode?

I'm very, very happy to be unaffected by this. SkyTV is a godsend at times like these. But no matter, Atlantis is still running and you can download all the series' online (though it is illegal).

I myself have every SG-1/SGA boxset on a rack above my TV and Eureka is looking to be a very good show so I'm all set for my TV needs.

To all those that are losing Stargate, you have my utmost condolences.

Aekiel, there's no way you're unaffected by this. They're talking about not filming the show anymore. It may go on in the form we know and love, in which case you would be right and lucky british people with their SkyTV and people who feel like d/ling it on iTunes can view it, but the Sci Fi channel won't carry it anymore.

The dealio now is they want to have a movie or miniseries that would lead into a third spinoff series.

Stargate isn't just a show, it's a franchise! It's totally not going away.

I truly believe that Sci-fi is making a huge mistake canceling SG1. Who in their right mind gets rid of one of their top shows? Hopefully, Atlantis holds out. Fridays just won't be the same without SG-1. CURSE SCI-FI!!!!

I know i'm digging up an old thread but:

SG1 should of ended at the end of season 8. The Go'uld threat was basically gone, almost the same with the replicators, and there was no foreseeable enemy in the future. the galaxy was a happy place. there were a few lose ends, the trust for one, along with a few other things. but the series could of ended there. But no, we had to replace the character that made the show what it was and come up with threat that I would of figured been at least mentioned in previous episodes. Now they have to do one of two things, rush the ending for the season 10 finale or do the movie option, which doesn't make sense to me.

Atlantis was the series based around the ancients, not SG1, yes they were there, but they were truly not interfering with life.

And theres talk of a series based around Jackson and Vala, which could be good, but i doubt it.
