Also, make your chapters atleast 2000 words long, avoid having too much happen to soon. If you have seen something done a thousand times (i.e. a typical pairing, being a multi-animagus, or training with vampires were in under a week harry is god) don't do it. Description is important but don't overdue it, you will lose readers that way, same with holding out for reviews, nobody likes that. Finally, don't have things move along so slowly that no one cares anymore (that's the way i feel about wishweaver) but most of all have fun with it..
