Devs are already trying to game the system.

You buy their bundle of indie games, which include links to DRM-free downloadable versions, but if you want the Steam codes then please vote for the game on Steam Greenlight. If it gets in, you'll get your Steam code.

I admire their clever marketing, but something about the scheme stinks.

I am not particularly fond of indie games in the first place so this means next to nothing to me. I simply buy Humble Bundles (which already are on steam for the most part) to get a few cheap games and donate to charity. The only indie game I have bought to seriously play is Evochron Mercenary and that looks like it has been superseded by Galaxy on Fire 2 before I even played it.

Jas, you have no soul. Unfortunately my view on the system is slightly colored by the fifty emails I have in my inbox from devs wanting me to promote them on IGM. I like most of them but I do need to use this inbox for things other than greenlight.

On the other hand, are there any games on there that stand out to DLPers? So far I'm liking Sang-Froid: tales of werewolves. Think a 19th century, open world, story based, Orcs Must Die styled tower defence game with werewolves, wendigos, demons, and spirits.

Oh the glory of multiple emails. With so many free providers out there, I still find it surprising people don't get into the habit of using one for personal needs and another for services that will likely generate spam.

Anyway, as far as anything standing out...

Deep Hunter Looks kind of interesting in a casual kind of way.

Solitude kind of looks like an Amnesia clone, but I'm kind of interested in that one...

Fortune Winds: Ancient Trader looks fucking beautiful. Total Buiscit's WTF Is...

Slot Cars - The Video Game <-- I want this one, just out of love for my childhood memories. I had probably 3 miles of tracks and a billion cars...

DLC Quest looks hilarious. Total Buiscit's WTF Is...
