This should be fun, I've actually started to like this style of game again since I played Orcs Must Die.

 

Assassin's Creed games are on sale today. The first two are $5.00 each. I've already played the first on Xbox. I've heard that they have some pretty bad DRM on PC, so are they worth getting?

 

Definitely. Great games, and they got rid of the worst parts of the DRM.

 

Civilization V: Game of the Year is on sale today.

If anyone wants Fallout New Vegas, it's on sale too. $4.99 game + $11.44 dlc = $16.43 total. It is worthwhile getting the DLC even if the game:dlc ratio is whack.

$16.43 is the cheapest F:NV is going to get until the Game of the Year version is released and then goes on sale itself. There's no need to wait for the GotY, because it won't include any extra game content. All patches, DLC, etc. are done and according to the F:NV project lead:

So, snap it up if you want it. And yes, you read that correctly: Even the project lead has turned his hand to making a mod.

If you really want to save every penny you can, then the GotY will likely be out and on sale in six months at the latest. The game was released in August 2010, so they can't wait too much longer. Educated guess: GotY in Jan-Mar during the post-Christmas game release drought.

 

Don't forget Deus Ex and Shogun.

I'm having trouble doing the Christmas Dungeon Defenders achievement, can one(or more) of you help me out?

 

There were ranked serves specifically for that achievement by the dozens the other day, did they all go away? I was debating trying to get a lvl 30 on ranked for it myself but said screw it and stayed in Open

 

You can actually get the Dungeon Defenders achievement in open.

 

Was trying to buy C & C 3 as my first Steam-acquired game. Keeping going back to the Store Page after I click on the head to check out button. Am starting to get frustrated.

 

That's probably because the new daily deals were released an hour ago, so the checkout is overloaded. It should calm down soon. Steam sometimes does strange things under exceptionally heavy traffic.

 

Makes sense, I guess. I'm tempted to wait until I get back to the UK and put more money into my account before going on a buying rampage.

 

The Winter sale ends on the 1st of Jan [or maybe the 2nd], so only delay if you don't care about that.

I'm primarily concerned with Skyrim, since SmileOfTheKill has a 33% coupon that I'm trying to get. Besides that, C & C 3 is my biggest concern.

For most of them you do have to be playing ranked, this seems to be an exception. Still hellish to try and solo though.

 

I tried with my lvl 22 apprentice, and my son's lvl 20 on EASY, and we couldn't get past the second wave. We got lucky on the first wave, and the first tree one time was directly next to the box, but then the next tree was clear on the other side through a boatload of crap.

Not being able to setup towers well, combined with the stairs gettign blocked up super easy made it hell, you'd have to have 4 players all throwing enemies all over the place, and one at each tree probably, to have a chance. Or just be hella high level and play on easy.
