I keep meaning to say how awesome this thread is. I've never caught a single good sale on Steam, I'd always miss the great games for bottom prices, but hopefully this thread will make sure that doesn't happen again, well when I do eventually go back to buying stuff anyway, lol.

I'm in the same boat. I bought the game in Feb, but don't have any of the DLC. I've tried to find a cheaper way to get the DLC [eg. buy complete pack as gift, give the main game to a mate, and gift the DLC back to myself] but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Borderlands is on sale right now, 75% off. The game sells for $4.99 and the DLC pack for $7.50. I found that game Awesome when I bought it during the last summer sales, and I've been waiting for a DLC sale ever since

 

They'll only sell the German version to me, so I won't be getting that. Had the same problem with Titan Quest.
They could easily verify my age so that I could get the UK version, but I guess it has something to do with the ban on advertising of the original.
Or it has something to do with the importing part - maybe that's more bureaucracy that they don't want to deal with.

 

Get someone from out of the country to gift it to you on Steam. German players on the Steam forums seem to use this method.

If you get a friend to buy the uncut version for you, then make sure that they purchase the DLC too. German DLC from Steam won't work with non-German versions of the game.

I don't think it's a ratings issue. I think GTA 1, 2, and Vice City were released retail in Oz. It's probably a publisher/distribution deal that's keeping it out of the Aussie Steam store now.
