Everyone just received the Skyrim - Dawnguard DLC, even if they don't own Skyrim. Looking at the Dawnguard Store page you'll see that all of your friends now own Dawnguard.

Reddit confirms that you get a 700MB download and the DLC works.

It's not known if this was a mistake or not. There's no announcement yet, but that's not unusual in either case.

edit: For those of you who are struggling to meet the $100 account value to get into Steam Gifts, this might have given you a $20 boost. Act asap in case Dawnguard is removed from your accounts or from SG's calculations.

People who downloaded it still have it apparently. The .esm and .bsa files haven't disappeared and it's still working. I'm not sure if the Dawnguard-specific achievements still work, probably not, but the rest of the DLC seems to be.

Plenty of folks are backing up their Dawnguard files just in case though.

 

Eh, it's basically the same as torrenting Dawnguard though, just slightly more hazy ethically comparatively.

Well that was kind of frustrating, it is basically a hidden object game. Only I have no idea what I was doing. I'm certain that my clues did not match up with the picture. I just randomly clicked until I passed.

 

I think only the group admins can add people now. Go to the Gamertag Masterlist thread, add your Steam, PSN, etc. details there and ask to be added to DLP Group.

You seem to check out tho, [been on DLP a while, have a good rep on SG.com, don't have a bad rep on SteamRep], so I think you'll be fine.
