Do you have PS+? Do you want a completely free version of GoW I+II HD that will stay yours even if you drop your PS+ subscription? Good, because Sony fucked up.

Here's how (via the webstore):

1) Download the PS+ trial versions of God of War HD and God of War II HD.
2) Go to the PS Vita God of War Collection page. It should be free because of cross buy or some bullshit. "Buy" that.

Because of the way Cross Buy works, you now have God of War I+II HD. Completely free.

E: They might have fixed it.

 

Unfortunately, to get the 14-day trial you have to store your credit card details with Sony. How can anyone trust them when they were so thoroughly breached? At the very least, storing your entire CC details on their servers [instead of keeping them local] seems incredibly risky. And demanding it as a requirement for the trial is asking too much.

Origin's such a damned joke. They blow money advertising a "free" game like it's this big massive amazing deal... and then it's Dead Space 1 or PvZ, roflz. Keep trying Ea, maybe one day I'll come off my Steam addiction for something other then Battlefield.

 

Tropico 5 preorder apparently for $0.18 at here and it seems all you have to do is disable javascript and remove cookies to buy it. More details here.

Can't buy it myself so can't check but other people seem to be buying it without problem and the site itself looks fine.

 

They canceled most of the orders from what I saw.

 

GOG.com are having their Insomnia Sale again. It's an unusual one.

They release a limited number of games [eg. 200 copies of Leisure Suit Larry] at a heavy discount [up to 90% off] and when they're sold out they go to the next game. Apparently it was a big success last year. /v/ and RPG Codex got shoutouts in the promo page.

Some of the deals are 'meh' and some of them are fantastic bargains.

The games are selling out pretty fast. They only last for minutes until a new one is up. There's no list of what's coming up next, you have to be on to see it. Thus: Insomnia.

edit: The first cycle of 101 games is done - that was five hours ago while I was safely in bed. Now GOG is repeating them in random order. There's a random chance of having a game show up as free when you take it to the checkout. Reddit's a pretty good place for info on the sale.

 

Free Anomaly: Warzone Earth game from Games Republic if you register in their website.

Once registered to the site, the game will not appear immediately. For me it took about five to ten minutes before the game was gifted. You can now direct download the game or generate a steam key.

 

I got it in under two minutes.

 

Humble Bundle are releasing a new bundle every day for the next fortnight.

First up is a repeat of the Deep Silver bundle if any of you missed it last time. Games from the Saints Row series, Dead Island series, Sacred series, Risen series, and Metro 2033 are included.

Could be quite a few good bundles, or could be all games that've been in previous bundles. Either way plenty of people are gonna be getting their hands on games they don't have, though I'd certainly prefer games I don't own

Today's Humble Bundle is Crusader Kings. The $8 tier gets you CK2, and $20 gets you a pile of DLC, including Sword of Islam, The Republic, Sunset Invasion, Ruler Designer, Legacy of Rome, and a bunch of graphical and music DLC.

 

I haven't really been impressed with Humble Bundle's Spring Sale. =/

 

I'm really in two minds about getting Tropico 5... On the one hand, I've loved the 4+ hours of gameplay I've seen, and the idea of the game appeals a lot more than Sim City did last year.

But on the other hand it feels like it could get dull quickly and currently £31 odd still feels too much.

This probably isn't the right thread - but the summer sale's in 2~ months at a guess going off last year's dates; I guess it would be a wise idea to wait for the summer sales and see if it gets a better discount?

 

Does it include Sons of Abraham or the Indian DLC?

 

My mindset lately has been "Over 50% off or no buy."

With so many games to play I just can't justify paying full or near full price for a game. Starcraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, old games I haven't finished, old games I bought on sale that I haven't even started.

There's just no reason to pay full price when I can enjoy the wait for a price drop. Just pretend that the game is coming out 6 months later than it really is. ;D
