    The final episode of MASH.

Radar's announcing Colonel Blake's death in MASH.

    Gandalf's vs the Balrog.

I just finished watching the TV Series Scrubs. Well, actually I haven't watched the season 9 yet, anyway. The final moment in S9 when JD has this fantasy about what his life would be like after leaving Sacred Heart - "Why wouldn't life live up to my fantasy for once?". After binge watching that show, that line felt really strong to me.

Legend of Korra - Avatar Wan vs Vaatu

The moment when Wan unlocks the Avatar state gave me the same chills I got when I first saw Aang do the same.

I love that scene! I can watch an entire show about Bartlet and Charlie just bantering. They have some of the best interactions in the entire series.

Public service / public information ads aren't generally known for this sort of thing; they tend to be rather heavy-handed and ameteurish, after all. Still, I've watched a lot of these over the years, and have seen a few with some poignancy.

Like this one from the 80s about the Troubles. Or this anti-speeding ad from Australia.

Yeah, in my opinion, that scene is the perhaps the best thing posted in this thread. It's brief and genuine. No bullshit.

A few that immediately came to mind...

Freedom Speech (already linked, but here it is again) from Braveheart

Zuko apologizes to his Uncle Iroh in Avatar the Last Airbender

Red Wedding, for the instant that Lannister music starts playing and you just know in Game of Thrones, and so does Cat

Giles tells Buffy he has her back in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (loads of other good moments in this series, mostly with Giles for me, but this one always stood out)... I can't seem to find a clip of it, but I suspect it's because I don't know what terms to search for.

Pixar scene from Up, when we get that old dude's backstory and follow his life from childhood through old age (I haven't even seen the entire movie, but hot damn this stands alone) -- No prior knowledge of the movie required to get these feels. So many feels.

Picard's time is a companion quote -- used this during my Salutatorian speech when I graduated High School

Sisko's speech from "The Pale Moonlight" which is basically him saying that he sacrificed his morality, in a major way, for the greater good... and he can live with it, and would do it again

I could probably come up with another dozen or so from Star Trek, no problem, but maybe later. Exercise now.

Well, there are quite a few moments from 24.

Ryan Chappelle's death scene is tremendous.

There are a few other scenes that fit the description, but it's tough to find scenes from 24.

Others have posted my two favorite scenes from Scrubs: Ben Sullivan's death and the final moments from My Lunch.

In film, one thing that always gets me is Jack Nicholson calling the game One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.

This one by David Foster Wallace isn't from a TV show or movie, but it's a speech that really resonated with me and a speech that I find myself listening to every so often. It's long (~20 minutes), but it's definitely worth the listen.

    More West Wing:

    Yamamoto

    Teacher

    Bartlet on Scripture

    Here's some for you, Nargles:

    Charlie's Tax Return

    Wake Up

    Shots Fired on White House

    Good Will Hunting

    Forrest Gump

Forrest's Son - this is simutaneously the most heartwarming and heartbreaking scenes in the movie for me.

    Bubba Goes Home - :(

Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) singing "Chandelier" on Selfie. It's probably the moment that turned a lot of critics around on the show even though that didn't do enough to stop its cancellation.

The ending to Looper where Young Joe sees the bad future and decides to change it. It's foreshadowed pretty heavily throughout but it's shot incredibly well.

Believe it or not, two from Transformers: Dark of the Moon:

Here's one from The West Wing that I can't find a video for: Leo learns that Charlie Young figured out the President's medical condition from the episode Bad Moon Rising. The later scene between Charlie and Bartlett where the President makes sure that Charlie does not lie for him is also great.

The episode of the West Wing after the shooting happens is probably the most I ever get gut punched by media.

I don't know how far the english version of 19-2 is currently at but:

The season 2 finale - school shooting, is pretty intense.
