The author posted chapter 2 and it looks pretty decent. It's mostly filler material, but the writing is good and he/she works on pushing the plot forward by having Fleur explain to Harry about his new abilities. The author goes out of the way to get rid of Ginny and Hermione as potential love interests which should appeal to everyone here.

Still a decent read, I will definitely keep checking it out.

I was pleasently suprised by the second chapter. I thought the first was a little cliche and a sorta bland plot line, but the second chapter was well written and had some good ideas. I especially liked the idea of Veela's having one distinct emotion when they mature, and Harry's is sort of a joking attitude. It's nice to see him not angst over garbage, and instead insulte Ron without getting all upset and joke around with Sirius. Good chapter.

 

The second chapter is good. The explanation about veela powers is something i haven't seen before. Also Harry standing upto Ron is nicely done.

 

I had been putting reading this story off for a while, because I've had some terrible experiences with male veela, but I found myself really enjoying it. The lighthearted tone is a very nice change from the run-of-the-mill Post-OotP depressed tone, and the Veela explanation was very good. Pity it's so short...

No, it was a story that I was following, (NOT LABELED SLASH) and all of a sudden, in the next update, Draco and Harry=soulmates, Harry has a shitbaby and I was traumatized...for life...;_;

The second chapter was surprisingly good. I really expected another gorram superpower!Harry! story. There was nice explanation of the veela powers and other whatnot. I like the idea of giving Harry a neat power, but limiting it's effects.

 

The only problem I really had with the second chapter was the sorta subtle Whore!Fleur attitude. Not really just Fleur, but making all Veela's nothing but sex maniacs. I mean what was the explanation of Veela? WHen they matured they need to have sex like everyday with multiple partners or something. I'm probably just a sucker for inexperienced girls, but I found that really aggreivating.

 

The whole whore!Veela thingy seems characteristic of the veela!Harry plotline; it starts getting redundant. I'm thinking about putting out a challenge where that's not necessary.

 

Veela are not Whores. Whores get paid for service, Veela give it willingly so they are sluts.

Nice chapter. I liked the way the author potrayed Harry's character. Only disappointment I had was there was no smut yet. *goes off to pout*

 

In all honesty, I didn't really expect to see either of my fics merit mention here, at least not this quickly, so I'm pleasantly surprised. I guess I'll take this opportunity to reply to some of the speculation that's been flying around.

First off, I'm sorry that I haven't been able to update more often, but now that I've graduated (from high school...I'm eighteen), I'll be posting considerably more frequently. At least that's the plan.

I'm absolutely useless on forums, so I won't bother quoting anyone. I don't think it's really necessary right now anyway. MoPhire brought up an interesting point about the wards. I've been debating with myself about whether or not I want to do anything with them. Whether or not he absorbed specific properties or merely raw power from them.

As Amerision said, I plan on working on a pair of his challenges, but not yet. Unfortunately, if I decide to start a third fic before finishing at least one of my current two, it's going to be a challenge from the pottersplace3 yahoo group. For those of you that are curious, it's AU. Basically what would happen to Harry if Bellatrix kidnapped him right after he got rid of Voldemort as a baby. The challenge is fairly open, but I was thinking of having an insane, but not particularly sadistic, Bella who raises Harry to be a kinder, gentler (though still very Slytherin) master than Voldemort was. Just a plot bunny that's taken to bouncing around in my head and won't stop.

I guess that about covers it. I'm glad that you guys (most of you, anyway) like my story enough to discuss it. I'll try to keep my updates fairly frequent, and the quality consistant.

Oh, and as for smut...chapter 3 won't disappoint.

Of course, the Prophet is bashing him and Dumbledore about Voldemort's suppose return. Also of course, Voldemort has freed all of his Death Eaters locked away.

Then Dumbledore, Fleur, Tonks, Kingsley, and a bunch of other people show up at the Dursley's. Then we find out Voldemort is there too.

Is Dumbledore ignoring the prophecy among other things? What kind of bluff is that?

Harry ends up getting hit with some sort of spell, waking up in the hospital wing at Hogwarts.

O.O. Sigh, I'm going to guess that Harry looks similar to the action heroes of the 80's.

Fuck. Not Veela!Harry. One of the best ways to kill a story.

What the hell, could Fleur's accent be any worse? Also, if you can read through that drivel, the Headmaster is evil of course.

Fleur then goes on to tell Harry why being a veela is such a bad thing for a girl but great for a guy. Of course, his eyesight is now repaired too.


Harry goes to the headmaster's office next. Dumbledore then goes on to tell Harry all about Tonks like reading off a list when Harry asks. Plus, they'll all be doing physical training (Harry and his friends). O.O

Ginny's on Harry's side while Ron just cares about the broom. Great...

Shut the fuck up about that damn spell. I'm sick of it being treated as if it is the fourth unforgivable.

So looks like Voldemort's plan backfired on him when trying to make Harry into a squib.

*Facepalm* Of course. Did Harry happen to gain anymore godly powers? Maybe the power to control the weather?

Next Chapter: Harry and Sirius interact.

Old friend? They just met not even a year ago during the tournament in which she hated him until he saved her sister. O.O

Way to turn Fleur into a slut.

Ron becomes a total asshole, wonderful.

I skimmed over the third chapter. Nothing really happens except Harry and Fleur finally have sex at the end. Given what's there, I'm not going to bother going to ficwad to read the lemon.

Giving this story a 2/5 would be generous considering the cliches and horrible progressing plot. Also, it was abandoned, among a couple of other problems. So therefore, I really have to go ahead and give it a 1/5.

 

*shrugs* THe difference between this one and most other fics makes all the difference for me. 4/5 and a wish that the asshole of an author would update.

 

Eh, I remember this one. It was an innovative idea at the time, and certainly still has promise. Still an enjoyable read.

@Scrittore: that is the textbook way to give someone a French accent, and it's exactly how JKR does it. You drop the "h's" and change "th" to "z." If it seems overdone here, it's only because both letters occur so frequently.
