    I'm looking for any fics that are so good that you would go back and reread in a later time.

    Requirements:
    45k words are more (preferably more)
    No Slash and No Harry/Ginny
    Well written. Cliches don't matter, much ;)

    Harry Potter and the Summer of Change by lorddwar

    A Black Comedy by Nonjon

    And probably many more that I can't remember right now. Perhaps even LogicalRaven's series (I can't remember the name) as they were some of the first I read, if they weren't so angsty.

    Too many to list, really. I've pretty much read every fic in my FF.Net favourites list more than once. So with that in mind...

    Who is this LogicalRaven person? I checked and he/she's got a long series of Harry/Cho fics I've never heard of. No mention of the fics elsewhere on DLP. Are they any good?

    That... is really in the eye of the beholder. She has a terrible sense of grammar, and I do mean terrible, and she has admitted to that several times, but I thought her characters were pretty well developed. The series are best described as an emotional roller coaster and the angst seems to multiply like pesky vermin throughout the series. She has a heavy usage of semi-developed OC's, but I didn't find them very Mary Sue-ish.

    She is also one of the few who gives a detailed description of the Auror Academy and she did so very well.

    The series themselves are actually six stories with the first three starting out with the Marauders and the last three with Harry. I never read the first three, but some of the characters from those appear in the ones focusing on Harry. It's only recommended that you read the first ones though, not actually needed.

    LogicalRaven herself is an admin on HPFF.com and you can find all of her stories there or take this Link.

    I'm actually quite surprised that LogicalRaven isn't known around here, but then again HPFF.com isn't exactly the type of site we usually link to on this forum.

    Speaking of this thread and HPFF.com, there is one more story I would probably read again. It's called Harry Potter and the Mysterious Power of Love. Despite the silly name, the story's probably the best Twin!Harry story I've ever read. It even has two sequels, but I would only recommend reading the first two as the third is rubbish. The downside to the story is that it focuses a lot on the twin (a female Lily clone) and Draco Malfoy is nice. *Gag* The Salem Institute is also obviously better than it's British version, America being way more awesome and all that...

    If you can handle extreme angst or heavy cliches or both, you might want to check those two out.

    I'll definitely give it a look then :D
    Summer of Change is definitely a reread ;) I heard of LogicalRaven before I believe but never got around to reading her fanfics, I had a huge list I had wanting to read awhile back but everything on my computer was deleted so I lost them all :(
    Lol so many stories to browse from...

    Anything by Amerison is definitely worth another read. I've been meaning to read Potter's Resistance and What Lies Beneath. I think I've read Hero's Path and wasn't that fond of it but I'll give it another shot.

    Fixed that for you. MF's stories are horrendous, but they are a traditional step in any Harry Potter fan fiction reader's experience. If you haven't read them, do so. If you have, don't read them again. They are torturous.

    You can read the Denarian Series over and over again if you like a darker, more cynical Harry and enjoy watching his character develop (if you don't, go die). Anything by Nonjon is going the right direction, though the already named Black Comedy and Brown Coat Green Eyes are my two prefered choices. Oh, and take a look at Make a Wish and some of its crossover spin-offs such as Terminal Justice. Hilarious fics are hilarious.

    What do you people see in Rorshachs crap? Ive tried to read his stories and I always turn away disgusted with myself for slogging through them. For me, they are badly disjointed and most of the time the characters are very OOC.

    As for re-readable fics, I'd recommend Stranger in an Unholy Land by Serpant Sorcerer. It starts out a bit slow, but picks up in about chapter 3. Just...dont read the sequel if you end up liking Unholy land. You'll be badly dissapointed.

    I base much of my standards for HP parodies and comedies around Rorshach and Nonjon. Though one is a better writer(Nonjon, obviously), Rorshach is still very witty and he thinks about stuff in a way I rarely do. :D

    oh denarian good I didn't say otherwise but second chance at life was enjoyable I read a long time ago and now started again there are a lot of ideas I like

    specially bloodmagic and parselmagic is interesting. And Akren is very original idea.

    Harry a little bit super powerful not overdone it.

    basically it is
    edit: İs black comedy where Harry goes after Sirius to the veil and ends in another dimension?

    Bloodmagic and parselmagic are so used, abused, and loose that I could probably fit my head in their gaping, metaphorical vaginas. Akren would have been nice, if it wasn't for the fact that all of the vampires were gay and the slash was getting pretty insane.

    To you edit: Yeah, that's the one.

    Anything by Nonjon, Ruskbyte, and (if you like romance) Jeconais. The last two of which are at Fanficauthors.net, but haven't updated... in forever.

    What Would Slytherin Harry Do? by Big D, the best Slytherin!Harry ever in the history of forever with no exceptions;

    The Doorway to Dawn by Kensington, the only good HP/WoT crossover;

    and a peculiar favorite of mine, Nine Lives by Kneazle. The rest of his stuff is pretty much crap, and it was abandoned with 2 chapters long ago, but the line at the end of the second chapter is the most epic thing since Chuck Norris. Epic enough for me to reread a short, abandoned fic just for the build up to that line, even.

    So go read it. Right now. :axe:
