Right now, all it does is put a pretty notice in the top right corner. In 1.0.2 it prevents results from being returned in the search engine, and removes them from the latest updates list.

Would an author not labeling their story as slash be grounds for warnings and other nasty administratorial devices?

That way you can ensure the system works as it's supposed to.

Absolutely. Slash fics must be declared.

Aw, so that means my Harry/Draco/Snape/Lucius/Voldemort/Albus/Albus Severus orgy probably won't get through. Doh!

In all seriousness though, thank God for slash filter. And thank Lord Ravenclaw too I guess...

Err...it wasn't exactly slash I was talking about, as Harry and Snape did nothing with each other. Snape just helped Harry shag Hermione. In other words there was an element of Hermione/Snape.

However, I do see what your saying. In other words authors will have to declare that (in this case), there is some Hermione/Snape, which is outstanding since if I saw that I would never ever even think of clicking that link.

But how would that work if you intend the pairing to be a secret, or a revelation later on?

I didn't think of that Meth. A problem indeed. Although, most folks are fine with Harry/Many (not really meaning harem, but that he just gets with several of the girls). That's not usually my problem, as I can even read Harry/Ginny if I know there is a fairly above average chance that he will be with someone else later in the fic.

What bothers me the most is when authors sneak in a Hermione/Snape or Draco, or dare I say even a Draco/Ginny. Not that I like Ginny, but you know it's kinda freaky to date a boy whose father tried to have you killed. And the Hermione stuff just drives me nuts, as don't belive those two would shag Hermione even if she was the wizarding worlds goddess.

I guess its a good thing I am not doing the coding, since I would be way way more than lost.

Just having a slash filter is enough for me. Though I wouldn't mind a 'wrist cutting' filter as well. I hate that shit.

Anyways, the best filter is that big red X. See something you don't like, just lightly tap it. BAM, problem solved.

Will there be a way to search tags and exclude tags later on?

1.0.2 supports searching tags and listing tags.
