The official look for most of the characters has just been unveiled so I guessed it was time for a proper thread since shooting started about a week ago as well.

I am a little disappointed in some of the looks, Enchantress, but I get why they look the way they do. Katana, Deadshot (with the mask, I hope), Harley and Boomerang are pretty cool. What do you guys think?

 

Looking at it, I think the cast is too large. It reminds me of The Expendables and I'm really hoping for more than that.

 

The name of the title is suicide squad. Expect some of them to be cannon fodder.

 

Adjust your expectations, it'll not be as great as The Expendables.

 

I have no positive expectations for this. The only saving grace for this movie's concept in my mind is that the company knows how much a fuck-up will cost them.

I just wanna see Smith's Deadshot, at this point.

 

Basically everyone looks okay except for Enchantress (dipped into the water?) and Killer Croc (too small and humanlike). The rest look like pretty good adaptations.

Deadshot looks pretty cool, in a mercenary kind of way. Harley is a bit too street/punk, I imagined her differently.

And I also think they're packing too many characters into this, especially considering that not everyone who will see the film reads comic books. Those people (myself included) will care about three characters: the Joker, Harley and Deadshot (because Will Smith). The rest will just be visual noise on the screen.

 

The title says it all: Suicide Squad.

Someone needs to die.

It's really sad how bad this looks.

 

The bright colors may be a side-effect of taping for 3d, since colors are severely muted by that technique.

 

Call me a blasphemer, but I dig Joker's look. Of course that comparisons will be made to Heath Ledger's Joker because he brought to the screen the best live-action incarnation of the character to date, but I think it's good that they're doing something that will attempt to stand on its own legs.

 

And let's not forget how bad everyone thought Heath Ledger was going to be.

 

To be fair, it's a huge improvement over the first released image of the new Joker. So, in that respect, it's getting better. Who knows, at this rate the final result might even be good.

 

It's unfair to judge based solely on appearance imo. I feel like Joker looks ridiculous regardless, and needs to marry that look with the performance to pull it off.

 

At least he's wearing a suit.

Most of the trailer looks like every action movie ever made. I liked the bedazzled Lambo, Harley Quinn and Joker at the end. He looks like a maniac and sounds even better. I'm sure Jared Leto will do his best and whether or not he can carry a film will probably make or break this one. Right now, this is jointly at the top of my 2016 list with Cap 3, just because of the Joker.
