    Spoilers Ap 23

25 minutes into the show. I missed, like, the first 6 minutes, and ... damn - how did this one *start?!*

"He's a Winchester. He's already cursed." When did Sam get so bitter? Yeah. Dumb question.

Awesome episode, I love what they did with the episode, it had the opportunity for fail but the way they went about it was awesome. Sam's become quite the dick though.

So all in all that wasnt bad, it wasnt the best and not the worst. Its just after all the action and end of the world stuff it seemed a little strange to go back to season one style bad guys but it was interesting enough. However was I the only one who was waiting for Sam to demon crush those two when they held him down?

Ah well anyways the next episode looks much better we finally get to see who Castiel's host is, it looks very interesting.

Well, like John, Sam's given up hope for a better future. Once he really believed that he and Dean would Hunt until something killed them, there was no point in trying to shield Adam. John and his sons have enemies. And some of those enemies aren't going to stop trying to kill them, or worse. Ever.

Just like John's edicts were maddening, but pragmatic (and good advice,) the rules as Sam spoke them could have been carved in stone. Pretty lies will get you eaten in that world.

I was wondering why Sam didn't use any of his special abilities to save himself.

They kept on focusing on the blood, might have something to do with it. That or the smack on the head had him out of it.

Agreeing with anlun... The blood was definetly hinted at.

it could be that now he's more demon than human now. I keep thinking back to when dean saw Sam when he was about to be sent to hell.

I wonder what he looks like now.

I figure if he died right now he might be literally welcomed in hell as one of there own. I'm waiting till one point where he drips holly water on his hand and it burns.

I knew from the promo last week that the kid was a trap of some sort. But I was really pleased with how they did the episode. Even when I call an episode for this show, they still manage that twist that makes you go ...

    "Whoa"

Also I don't think Sam's powers work on non demons... or altleast not the way he uses them. It could be if he tried to develope new powers he might be able to affect monsters,

Yeah, I am pretty sure that Sam's powers only work on demons, otherwise we have a powerful Sam, and a human Dean.

Only thing I kept wondering was - did Dean ever find out about the demon blood?

Not yet, but with the preview of next weeks episode, it looks promising that it will be coming soon.

Meh. I thought this episode was the worst one this season. It was nothing but depressing. There weren't any moments of banter, light-hearted humor, or even smiles from Sam or Dean. And so far, it doesn't seem to matter at all towards the Angels/Lucifer/seals storyline. Considering how easily they were deceived and Sam was sliced and nibbled on, it almost would make more sense as a missing season 1 or 2 episode.

I can only assume the dead/other Winchester kid will have some purpose later or else this was just a pointless unfun episode.

Interesting considering I had the opposite reaction. I appreciated the interlude between the uber-heavy angel bullshit <_<

While there was barely any humour it was still better than deans angst phase during the begining opf the season.

Ex. the episode with the girl in the basement.

This episode was all emotional and unrealized what ifs... it was refreshing and a little more powerful because there was a tangible loss. something substantial towards the family driven brothers. I wasn't routing for a kid brother tag along but seeing how they handled it they made a possible series killer into a great emotional punch to the nads.

besides its these short breaks between seals and angels that keeps us on our seats when they come.

Quazi makes a good point. If you just have full tilt demon v. angel apocalypse BOOM every episode, eventually people tune out and it stops being interesting or shocking. There needs to be a human element and losing a brother is tangible.

So I'm guessing that Sam bleeding out is going to be pretty important soon. I assume he's going to trip pretty bad the next episode or so, scratching at his arms and begging for a hit. The demon blood seems sort of like his heroin.

Did anyone else wince when Dean repeatedly bashed in notbabybrother's head in? At my house we did a cheer at the first whack, and then it got all silent and awkward after the third hit.

Thats what the promo for it indicates... Sam drinking from a flask and calling up ruby for more.

As for Dean, It wasn't lost on me when Dean Killed the ghoul.

I'm all for the so-called "filler" type episodes that don't have significant bearing on this season long angel-apocalypse storyline. One of my favorites from this season was the contagious fear ghost disease ep. Opening with Dean running scared like a little girl from the tiny dog was hilarious and ending with the iron chains wrapped around the big bad ghost and dragging him down the street to scare him to death was bad-ass.

But like for example, one of my favorites from last season was the siege on the prison episode where FBI agent dude (Hendricksen? Can't remember) gets possessed and toilet bowl turned holy water saves him. He's kinda lost and confused admitting, "I... shot the sheriff?" And Dean kinda pauses and can't help himself as he points out, "But you didn't shoot the deputy." Dean's cheesy, goofy amusement at himself and the way Sam looks like he wants to smack Dean... those to me are the best moments of the series. Just some reason for them to smile or laugh at each other in the face of the things that go bump in the night.

But I wasn't moved or touched or felt the tangible pain of the human element in "Jump The Shark." Although upon further reflection, I thought of one thing I hadn't considered. And that is that Eric Kripke, series creator dude whose planned out most of the storyline and stuff has five seasons in mind. After that, he's done and it's reasonably possible the show will end.

But it's not guaranteed. He may be done, hell maybe even one of the two lead actors will be done too but the network, the studio or whoever else has the rights can keep the series going if they wanted. And by doing this episode, by bringing up the missing Winchester brother and summarily killing him off, it makes it that much harder or takes away the cheesiest excuse for them to try to continue the show beyond his run.

It gives the episode a little more "point" to me.

As for Sam's demon blood, I think you're probably in the neighborhood. I remember seeing a description for the second to last episode of this season and in it Sam was going to lock himself in Bobby's panic room and try to cleanse the demon blood from his body. Which makes me think somethings gotta break to make even Sam flip-flop on the demon powers thing.

    Shit. This got ugly long.

Would you happen to have a link for this, Id be very interested to see some descriptions of the coming episodes.

I really hope thats wrong, Im still hoping my theory about Sam going darkside being a fakeout proves true. I think Dean is the one whos going to end up being the bad guy. You'll hear the squeeing from miles off if the fangirls on CW are proven right and Ruby and the powers are all bad.

My favorite site for checking episodes and air dates is epguides.com. It was bought out by tv.com and links to tv.com episode information.

I've always loved the simplicity of epguides.com simply because you just take out the spaces in a show title to figure out the URL.

    Like Supernatural is at http://epguides.com/supernatural
Burn Notice (which starts back up June 4th apparently) is http://epguides.com/burnnotice and so on and so forth. Just change the url to /bones /house /ncis /buffy /csi /csiny /csimiami etc...

    Thanks nonjon

Ok so Im looking at the little blurbs for the episodes here and I notice something interesting for the last episode of the season Lucifer Rising

Now if that is in fact the wording they are going to use in the show, does that not sound like a blatant trap for Dean to anyone besides me?

Dean: Im here to stop the rising for my moment of glory.
    Cue Black Smoke into Dean
Lucifer: Oh hi guys thanks for the new meatsuit!
