I hope so. The kid's got me interested, and any spawn of Hell has to return for the climatic battle. :awesome

"It's called soup, you heat it up in a pot; then you eat it."

The fact that the kid was so innocent when it came to lies he believed made me smile pretty damn hard.

"Itching powder? That stuff will make you itch your brains out!"

I caught up to the current episode after 15 days, that's about 4h/day. Seems a bit excessive in hindsight. :D

The show is definitely pretty fun. Pretty close to the X-Files at first, but it quickly distinguished itself. I especially liked most of the special episodes like the ones with the Ghostfacers or Monster Movie. They became really imaginative in the last seasons and didn't just go the standard haunted building way.
Bad Day at Black Rock, Bedtime Stories, Mystery Spot, Yellow Fever, Wishful Thinking, It's a Terrible Life, etc. were all pretty unusual.
But some of the jokes lately seem to be really cheap shots; the end of the world and Palin being president, the bit with the prostitute with daddy issues (though I liked the situation as a whole), etc.

For most of the time in the last seasons I was on Sams side with his ability. Of course as a TV show it was clear from the start that addictive demon powers have to result in bad consequences, but it seemed like the right thing to do most of the time: risking your soul and saving people vs. killing them when you kill the demon.
I really didn't expect Ruby to make that turn - only late in season 4 I began to suspect her a little bit and it became clear only after they revealed that killing Lillith was the last seal. Good job writers.
Though Sam should have noticed that something was wrong when she told him he had to kill the innocent woman to get enough demon blood. But to be fair, he was being manipulated by both angels and demons at that point. Him reaching out to Dean one last time and the altered message? Genius.

I really had doubts when they introduced angels and Lucifer and thus implicitly God - that destroys most stories because of the huge plot holes - but it was suprisingly well done. Same with the introduction of the prophet, though it is a bit cringeworthy. You'd think that some of those fans would have noticed that these things really happened - especially as most of the cases are found through newspapers.

On the issue of the missing Jesus: isn't he supposed to be part of God - trinity and so on? Thus it would be implicit that he's not there either.
I really hope they avoid God as much as possible and the afterlife as well. That stuff can only work in a story when there's no certainty. Deist God seems to be the way to go - or just an imperfect God.

It's been a while since something has startled a genuine cackle out of me but the hairy palms and Dean's smile as he said, "I got bored. That nurse was hot." I scared my cats at that one. Classic. And the ham. Funny funny stuff.

As for the week before, I was pleasantly surprised by the gore and splatter-covered Sam but I wanted more Abraham Lincoln.

Jesse I'm not so sure about. The idea of demon-hybrid antichrist as an uber bad-ass is kind of deus ex-ish. I mean he didn't know what he was doing and he had no problems completely controlling both angel and demon. I can't see him taking sides since he seems pretty much game over (he can "nuke heaven"). But there are some interesting directions other sorts of conflicts with the kid could go in.

Either way. I thought this one was a great episode. Weird and creepy with the whole immaculate demon pregnancy control and dungeon birth. Hilarious in parts. And moving us a little further.

This week it's a high stakes poker game where you bet years of your life? Looks pretty good.

I new from the get go that the kid would high tale it, but it brings up a question. If demons take a human as a host to create the antichrist... does that means to actually make a jebus an angel has to do the same?

That seems like something the angels should have been working towards while pushing sam and dean to the apocalypse...

I can already see the fanfiction arise. Harry potter as the new Christ/hunter/psychic... because why not all three? or even some human angel demon menage et trois

I still want to get more devil screen time. I'm anxious to see some Armageddon plot.

    Just terrible.

Hightail, and ménage à trois. At least try to make an effort, big boy. It doesn't have to be 110%, but at least pretend you give a damn.

Is there any good Supernatural fanfiction out there? All I see are wincest stories, Dean/Castiel stories, stories where each brother is in love with a female Mary-Sue OC, self-inserts, stories where the boys have a little sister that obviously represents the author, etc.

So are there any good fics for Supernatural at all?

I think this is really good, but it looks like the author abandonded it just before the climax.

Try these on for size: Some humour, some horror, some case!fic, some not.

Ten Thousand Miles: This isn’t a story with a deeper meaning. There is no moral at the end. On December 28th, 2007, Sam Winchester walked out of the motel room he was sharing with his brother and never came back. This is the story of what happened after. [Season 3 AU]

Hacker: Sam, like all good students, knew where to go for information. He knew libraries like the inside of a 1967 Chevy Impala, and the Internet like the parts of a Model 94 Winchester Rifle. Sam hacks.

Goodnight Nobody: Wee!chesters, again. Nobody, Daddy. Nobody's here. Sammy, sucking his fingers. Oh, okay. A pause. John's brow furrowed. Who's here?

Crap Job: What happens when Sam & Dean stop in for supplies at a convenience store and find themselves in the middle of a robbery? OC POV. Complete.

Alla Prima: Jess paints Sam. Sam/Jess

A Four Letter Word For Blockhead: Sam and Dean are called upon to remove a spirit from the home of an elderly couple. A piece of cake, right? WRONG! Rated for language.

The Sincerest Form Of Flattery: Hendrickson was torn between jumping for joy that they were caught, and being furious that he hadn't been the one to do it.

The Crow On The Cradle: AU. On October 2, 2005, Sam Winchester walked out of the apartment he shared with his girlfriend Jess in the middle of the night, and didn't come back. COMPLETE.

The Art Of Breaking: M for language. Tag to 3.11, 3.16, and 4.01. One hundred miles north of Four Corners, the Impala's radio played its last. Oneshot. Complete.

Righteous Dollar Bills: When Castiel woke on Dean Winchester's rack to find a green-eyed boy staring at him, he realized his mission was far from over.

Hubris: AU. Six years after the Pilot, Sam's a profiler with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. When Special Agent Henriksen asks him for help on a series of strange cases, past and present collide with disastrous consequences.

Lazarus Reanimated: When Castiel went to grip Dean tight and raise him from perdition, Dean was already gone. Sam had gotten there first, even if he hadn't known he'd done it at all. This is "Lazarus Rising" if it went a little differently.

How Do You Exorcise The Goth From A Teenager?: Due to a laundry mishap and an off-hand comment by John, Sam takes a walk on the Goth-side. Humor.

Going Ape: Dean gets into trouble with a woman, and Sam's going bananas dealing with the consequences.

Hark The Herald Angles Tweet: Castiel gets on Twitter, and his followers adore him.

All Creatures Of Our God And King: It's not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the end. Post S4-ish.

I have more saved somewhere... Will post when I find them.

Guy didn't deserve to die. His game was completely fair. He didn't force anyone into it, and they knew (as far as anyone who doesn't believe in magic can know) what they were getting into. Some people, such as the the guy fucking the hookers, got lucky. Others, such as the guy from the opening scene, got screwed. It was a fair, if occasionally cruel, game.

Interesting episode, Patrick was awesome and it was good to see some Bobby development. For once they didn't kill the monster of the week which was pretty cool and watching Dean walk out of the building when everything was fixed was hilarious.

I'm feeling a bit cautious about the next few episodes but then again the writers managed to pull off Chuck so far so I'll leave it at cautious optimism.
