Yup. My sister and I hunkered down on the couch after a windy evening on the beach and heckled the Winchester Bros. as they went around stabbing things.

It was glorious. Much better than the Buffy Christmas episodes.

 

Just got season 5 on DVD. I can't wait to watch. But I have to freak out my family with the Christmas special first. My mom is terrified of Supernatural.

 

Started watching it a month ago. All seasons finished and up to episode 11 in season 6 (that is the latest i presume?)

I am not really drawn into this season yet but since the first 5 didn't disappoint I am still watching. My fav character is Castiel, Death a close second.

The worst decision they took was replacing Cassidy. >_>

 

I'll probably skip tonight's rerun, but I'm making a point of watching next week, so I'll be ready for the new ep on the 28th. Besides, angel episodes are reliably great.

Supernatural won't be on tomorrow. They've pushed it back to Feb. 4th.

Apparently the highly intelligent folk at the CW are just realized that their Thursday night line-up is going to be creamed by American Idol, and see fit to air repeats of tonight's new The Vampire Diaries and Nikita episodes tomorrow instead of new Smallville and Supernatural. :facepalm

 

This, BSG(newer version), and The Thick of It, are my favourite TV shows of all time in my rather young life.

Castiel is hilarious, and kicks so much ass, my favourite character. One of the best moments this season was the episode where he was watching porn.

also liked Sam calling desperatly for cass to appear and desperatly saying out of annoyance:

"Cass, the nazi's found some ark shaped thing, when it was opened it melted everyone in the vicinty..."

Cass appears out of nowhere instantly="where is it? the ark of the covenant?!!?"

Sam= "dude, you fell for that? that was the plot for raiders you idiot!!"

Hottest girl on the show? IMHO a tie between Bella Talbot(loved her banter and secret affection for Dean) and the first ever crossroads demon.


I need to purchase the first 5 seasons, I've held off hoping for some supreme pack when it all ends with some special features.

 

That really sucks but on the bright side i no longer have to choose between Fringe and Supernatural this week.

 

Actually, it works beautifully for me. We had the power out because of a "wintery mix" snowstorm - four days without power. Being brilliantly intelligent, I'd filled the bathtub with water, so at least we could flush and boil water. I couldn't find Supernatural episodes anywhere online that didn't make me sign up for something (and send in a cheque,) so I'm rescued...

At least if the power lines stay up through tomorrow (oh, *why* did I think of that? Why why why?)

I could have sworn that there were two men who completed the ritual and tossed in the girl, but only one was waiting when she arose. They were dragons, right?

It's amusing that they thought that Castiel would hide the truth from Sam. Although Dean probably assumed that Cas wouldn't answer Sam's prayers any more than he did during the Year of Domesticated Dean.

I kinda wish Dean hadn't broken the sword, though. It was kind of predictable.

I'm glad that Bobby isn't just glossing over his own reactions to seeing Sam.

Any ideas on who the Mother is? If they are sticking with the Judeo-Christian stuff could Eve be considered the Mother of all? I hope not. I want to see some really powerful beings from other mythologies/religions that don't get punked by an archangel.

Am really curious who mother is going to be. I kind of doubt it will be Eve, but I can't remember any alternative right now.

Really liked the episode, the sword part was predictable but still immensely enjoyable.

Seeing that Crowley had to torture alphas to try to get the information, it stands to reason that most of the monsters don't actually want mother around. But I am unsure why exactly Crowley wanted mother in the first place. Isn't she just another extremely powerful being to lord over him? I doubt she will regard demons like him any better than Lucifer would, but maybe he had other plans, so, we'll see.

 

Great episode. And Sam's taking it better than I expected, but with what's coming up along the horizon, I suppose it's for the best.

Your logic isn't entirely sound. It's also very likely that they merely wanted to keep Crowley out of Purgatory. Besides, Crowley didn't want Mother; he just wanted Purgatory. Hell-adjacent real estate and all that.

These new developments all fit in really well with a SN/HP cross I was thinking up a couple of weeks ago. Shit's gonna be awesome. :awesome

Do you really think Crowley would be a real threat to Mother? Being Ruler of Hell seems to come with a power boost but nothing that big that should equal to mother. If they wanted mother out, I would think they tell Crowley how, he opens purgatory and than Mother curbstomps him.

Of course, Crowley may not have known/wanted mother at all, but then what did he want from that place? To soon to ask, I know. Will just have tow ait and see xD

Is the next episode going to be next week or will it air later?

I doubt the boost would give him enough to go toe to toe with an archangel. His power came mostly from leveraging and being a crafty bastard.
The dragons probably weren't aware of Crowley, we don't know how the hell the alpha/monster population exploded after S5.

Mother = Gaia, mother earth? Or some sort of Titan? I wonder if she'll get killed or just shoved back in the hole.
