I've been feeling sympathetic to the woman whose sword Dean broke - but I'd be surprised if he hadn't made a point of dipping several other blades in the blood and made sure that she received at least one replacement.

That's right Jon, and it was loose enough to fit a whole virgin.

First off, I missed a lot of the beginning of the episode, because my family gets reliably needy when Supernatural comes on. I've resigned myself to this reality.

Well, that didn't take long. The Wall is already showing failure marks.

As always, interesting and scary monster-of-the-week. I'm simply amazed at how they keep coming up with new ideas for monsters.

The actor is doing a good job portraying the souled!Sam. I'm enjoying his characterization. Actually, I liked the entire episode; all that I saw, at least. Nice development of Brenda, and the flashback of Sam-and-random-woman in the bar bathroom was sufficiently graphic.

Dean was so fucking annoying this episode. I get why, but that didn't stop him from being so fucking annoying.

Thankfully, Sam was great. I'm glad he's getting some focus. Especially since, at times, it feels like the show has been all about Dean since season 4.

Fucking hell, Sam was a P.I.M.P while without a soul.

The flashback to the bathroom affair was:cool:

Ditto to the person who said it's genius how they keep on coming up with new creatures almost every week. When was the last time a succubus/incubus was on the show? I can't remember, don't think that was ever touched upon...(I admit I haven't seen the first couple seasons since around the start of 07)

Anyone got the short preview they have for next week? I missed it.

It shouldn't be that hard to come up with monsters every week when you have thousands of years of various mythologies and folklore to work with.

The episode was okay. I thought it was a bit dull compared to the last few episodes. I was hoping for some more info on Mother, but I enjoyed watching souless!Sam work his magic and seeing Samuel's reactions.

When I found out that the monster was a
    spider
I started getting that phantom itch making me think I had one on me. Fucking things. I hate them.

I think I pulled something laughing when Dean put the knife to Misha's throat and he just started sobbing like a four year old girl. That was seriously some of the funniest shit I've seen on this show.

I was all depressed and "God, I've had days like that, myself..."
    Then I saw the previews.

    God this show is terrific.

    edited to add:
Didn't the actor who plays Sam's character marry the actress who played Ruby? I can just imagine walking into the house and finding two-years-ago-DEAD-Big Bad making a salad for supper.

Yeah he did thats what the awkward little scene in the kitchen was, Sam and Dean walk in and see Ruby, Genevieve sees her husband Jared and his friend Jensen walk in, confusion and hilarity ensue.

Last night's ep was good, next week's looks to be hilariously meta and awesome by premise alone, and there's one later in the season that sounds really cool:

Sam and Dean time travel back to the wild west. Not a bad premise by itself, but it'll feature an appearance by Samuel freakin' Colt. Awesomesauce.

Man, and here I remember everyone being worried about this season sucking after watching the premiere. Been an awesome ride so far.

Can't wait for next week, but did anyone else think killing the girl off with the haunted kidney was kind of a cop out? With the girl dead, they didn't have to think of another way to fix it.

Hmm...I don't think so. I think this was one of those rare times we saw how sometimes they don't always get to save other people without turning it into a personal tragedy of a main character. What I'm confused about is why the brothers were unfamiliar about ghosts being able to possess inanimate objects. The pilot episode had that ghost trying to kill them by driving the Impala didn't it?

Also, getting a little technical, are ghosts actually possessing these objects or just operating them like a puppet with strings? Because we have seen Sam and Dean trying to manipulate their surrounding environment when they were in spirit form last season.
