Season 7 starts 23rd of September at 9:00pm on the CW. Just a heads up. Also young Dean and Sam are back for next season, Jensen Ackles (Dean) is directing the fourth episode (remember he directed "Weekend at Bobby's"?) and Misha Collins (Castiel) is back for season 7.

I'm startled at how *quick* most major rituals are. You'd think that there would be days of fasting and cleansing processes, and a ritual that ran from sunset to sunrise. Instead, Castiel managed to complete it in minutes. By himself.

Season 6 has been over for some time, and I think the need for spoiler tags is out now that discussion for the new season will begin.

About your post, yeah, Supernatural has been taking a lot of the elements out, or simply skipping them over, or mentioning them is passing, mostly, I think, simply for the advancement of the story without wasting too much time on things the fans already know.

I remember thinking there was a time they used to hunt for demons, but in the last couple of seasons, whenever they need some information, a demon is conveniently inside a circle, being tortured about information.

Another similar thing that was (I think) discussed a few pages ago was how instead of exorcising them and saving the victims, now they just stick the knife in them.

Rituals have all been a hit-and-miss kinda thing in the show. Sometimes they require some special, exotic stuff, and sometimes Bobby conveniently has everything required at his home. But I think in Castiel's case, it can obviously be argued that he is a freakin' angel, and can therefore, perform the ritual himself. Cleansing? I don't think I remember something like this in the show.

 

Ackles is directing the third episode not the fourth, sorry my mistake. If you don't mind knowing a bit about the episode then check out the spoiler tags below.

This episode will be about a girl that Sam knew when he was 15 or so (this is where young Sam and Dean come in I assume) and will involve lots of flashbacks. Ackles directing means less Dean but it's good to learn a bit more about Sam's past as the focus has been on Dean for most of the last season. I'm hoping that with the way Sam's mental walls have crumbled the focus will be on Sam this coming season.

There will be a theme for season 7 apparently, namely Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Filming for season 7 starts on the 6th of July so I'll keep an eye on Twitter just incase we get any tidbits and I'll post them here.

Finally, Season 6 will be released on DVD on the 13th of September, the DVD will inculde two episodes of the anime series (lol how enticing), a featurette on Dean's plight as director, commentaries from Robert Singer, Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund on "Clap Your Hands If You Believe" and "The French Mistake" and a featurette about the significance of souls in the supernatural universe.

EDIT: Sheriff Mills is back in the first episode. Sheriff Mills was the policewoman whose son rose from the dead in Season 5 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" and she was also in "Weekend At Bobby's".

 

Sera Gamble has said that there is a strong possibility that Adam will return and Jared Padalecki has confirmed that we will find out exactly what Sam experienced in hell.

Sorry for the slight necro and double post but it's too late for me to edit my last post and there's been a lot of people complaining about the whole Adam thing.

I found out about this new show "Grimm," starting this Fall on NBC. I thought it looked intriguing, but it's airing right across from Supernatural. I'm going to have to get the TiVo working again.

Season 7 Preview

Not much there to be honest but the new season is only about a month and a half away, September 23!

 

It looked like it was edited from scenes of season 6 only.
I can wait for their reaction on Castiel words, I'm also looking forward to see more about Sam and what's he remember from cage.

 

Supernatural previews are almost always edited from previous seasons. But I just sighed watching that Ghostfacers scene.

Apocalypse...:facepalm

 

Apparently that was filmed around season 4/5 and only just now was leaked to the internet. It has no bearing on the the future of the show. It's all in good fun.

 

It was revealed at the San Fran Con that the Brothers Winchester will be facing the long arm of the law again but that this time it will be even more intense, Bobby will also become more involved and be travelling with the boys much more instead of just being a consultant for want of a better word.

I think this is how the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid theme is introduced; Sam and Dean are the last of a dying breed of hunters, the law is on their tail, they have no allies except for Bobby now and God, for all intents and purposes, is breathing down their neck.

I think Dean and Sam are gonna go out with a bang, possibly the end of this season maybe not but I think they'll die in the end.

 

Season 7 premiere trailer. I'm actually worried about Cas now.

If they kill Cas, I'm going to be really upset. The problem is that one recovering addict in a series is enough for me. Really. Did Death look a little ... um ... discommoded right then?

 

Nice trailer. I can't wait to see how this storyline plays out.

However, I am much less eager for the upcoming episode titled 'Slash Fiction'

 

I dunno. I'm getting a bit tired of the meta, and there is always a part of me that half-suspects the writers will actually cater to the slash/wincest fans one of these episodes.

 

Actually, "slash fiction" might mean lots of gore and blood spatter hitting the walls. [note to self: skip dinner before that episode]
