Three out of Five? Really? Someone is generous.

I mean fuck. I actually bought Masters of Teras Kasi when it was first released on playstation. Anyone remember Rebel Assault?

I spent a few hours with this. I'd fucking rather play Galaxies. God. I've literally read better fan fiction.

Well, it doesn't look good at all.
I played the demo, and it seemed decent. Not exactly what I was expecting, but decent.
A friend of mine who bought and played it said that while it was good, it wasn't even near the first game. I'll still buy it tomorrow, but I am getting ready for disappointment.

By what language does he define good? Is there some strange backwards 1980-'s double plus good language in use now that I'm missing?

Let me be blunt: This is good in the same way it's a "pleasant surprise" to come home, find your mother sprawled on the living room floor covered in cum from six black men, her throat slashed, and see 9 Mexican gang-banger wannabe's passing around your three eight to twelve sisters.

All of this rates magnitudes better than Force Unleashed 2. The minuscule tweaks to the controls don't nearly justify this half-ass attempt at milking a dead cow. And honestly calling this half-ass is like calling Oldwolfe's Potter fiction mildly concerning. Its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay understatement.

If this had been a five dollar download content for the original TFU released as "LOLOL SO WE WERE BORED.", your braindead friend could be right. As it is... Ask him if he was force feed lead paint chips after hours of his father shaking the shit out of him as an infant. He has sincere mental issues he should look into fixing. Which is code for: shoot himself in the face.

I own Rebel Assault - both of them. The second one is actually considered canon in the EU right now, and I hold that the designs for the Phantom TIEs were some the best in the EU altogether. And it actually had a story that was pretty good.

Comparing Force Unleashed II to those games... in terms of story, you can't. This is spunk on a slice of charred eggplant.

I think Lucasarts needs to take a lesson from Nintendo in this case: re-release the old properties, same stories with upgraded graphics and minimal changes to gameplay. The Dark Forces series has great level design for an FPS - use it. Bring back the Rebel Assault games and re-release them for the Wii - the control scheme could probably actually work, the way those games were built. Release a fully upgraded version of Rebellion, keeping in mind the principles of diplomacy and economy behind each game, and the general acceptance of the EU that went with it - Lucasarts screwed up with Empire At War, they can fix it here.

And for the sake of the Force and all that is holy, bring back TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. Rogue Squadron was good, but in terms of story and sheer depth, it had NOTHING on these games - and I want to see space simulators come back and be awesome again.

Standard Wii was terrible. I haven't used this ... faggoty motion plus shit but I'm gonna go ahead and say that no. :/ You are wrong. Just plain D wrong.

Put it on Xbox's Kinnect or PS's Move. I've fucked with move a bit. That would be awesome. Havent touched xbox's shit though.

I thought the Wii motion plus was coming standard with Wii's these days. But whatever, you'd got a solid point, and Move and Kinect would work just as well (in fact, given their focus, they'd probably make more sense in the long run - I totally forgot about them *shrug*).

But the point I was trying to make was that the 'motion-control' play style probably would work best with a Rebel Assault-esque title, rather than any of the others that I mentioned.

However, I've got to wonder whether or not the console reinvention of some of these games is even that great of an idea. The SW games started going downhill (with very few exceptions, namely Shadows of the Empire and maybe a few Rogue Squadron variations) when they started being ported to the console scene. If anything, I'd have difficulty seeing how they'd manage to adapt the fairly complex space simulator model to a console setting, especially in its final variations (where most of the keyboard was mapped to various functions).

You know what I would much rather see? A good sequel to Battlefront 2. Except with less gay and more customization.

Damn, and I was hoping it'd be like Jedi Academy with better graphics.

What a massive waste of money. £39.99 quid for what is nothing more than some DLC. Only 3 bosses, far too many fights with giant machines monotonous and boring. At first I thought that the end must have been half way through, but was actually relieved it was the end because I got bored.

The first one dicks all over this. It had a story and some sort of variation to it.

Never been a big fan of the storyline, but are they going to make this game at least moderately difficult? That's all I really remember from the first Force Unleashed, it was really quick and easy and had no real replay value, which made it boring and a waste of my money.

Sorry, but outside of KOTOR, the last truly difficult SW game that I played was Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. That game is also around 10 years old. So yeah.

Agree with that. Besides the customization part. I liked Battlefront mainly because it gave me the chance to be just one trooper out of thousands. Expendable and not the wtfpwn lasthopeofthegalaxy hero. But customization could be good I guess.

Fuck Battlefront. I'd like to have a new Empire At War.

T'was fun. Oh, and you could use the Death Star to fuck the shit out of planets.

    Link 1 Link 2

True, they were kind of crappy, but they were fun as hell D:

You know there are expansions [and mods] right? One [mod] for the Clone Wars era is about to come out.

And there is one expansion pack. Forces of Corruption. Clone Wars... is a mod, not an expansion.

Fair enough, but hear me out. When I say customization, I mean the chance to customize the entire goddamn army. Make your own unique classes by blending old ones, weaponry and items included. I, for one, would love to play a class that has both the frenzy rifle and the normal sniper rifle.

Or change Space Battles around. Make it so that Any Side can fight Any Side. Have different objectives, like say, Defend this barge for such and such a time, or Destroy this many ships, or something. Fuck all, I WANT TO DESTROY THE DEATH STAR. Or be able to use it against somebody.

I want there to be some goddamn variety in the Jedi. I'd love to use the Force to convince an enemy to shoot his allies, or grenade himself. I want the Heroes/Villains to be more than just a more resilient trooper with award weaponry. Christ, once you have permanent frenzy, do you ever bother with Heroes again? And I only ever play as a Jedi to have a melee attack.

Which reminds me, WHY CAN"T MY WOOKIES RIP SOMONE'S ARMS OFF? And why can't any of my soldiers punch a guy right in front of him? Is it that hard to fucking elbow a guy in the face?

So yeah, I love SW Battlefront 2. But there is need for a sequel that is less gay.

That is awesome in it's own merit. So long as the troopers are the same, it sound great. Though I do have a thing for the regular Clone Trooper armor.
Indeed, space battles are something I always wanted to change. Why the fuck have only two cruisers battling it out? Put five or ten in thar!
I was never really bothered with the Jedi, since the whole "simple expendable trooper" belief kindof made it a moot point. But on the other hand, having a common Jedi Knight or unknown Master or something could possibly be interesting.
And I don't really see how you could do the Mind Trick thing in Online Multiplayer. Or on droids.
The lack of melee combat has frustrated me many a match, but hear this. Would a clone punching a SBD have any effect? unless he pulled a vibroblade or something similar out of his ass like the commandos do, I don't see how it could work against the bigger enemies. The wookies should be able to rip arms off though (Lego Star Wars was awesome if only for that)
Agreed on that. Battlefront 1 and 2 were awesome games, but it is time for another to come and fix the mistakes. There was one but sadly it was canceled.

Perhaps Star Wars: The Old Republic will be better.
