    @ Rin
I don't watch fansubs of new shows if it's legally streaming, which SAO is.

    @ Khan
I get the feeling you'll stop watching then.

She's not his sister. In fact, in that episode, they say so. They used to be very close, but then after he turned ten, Kazuto became very distant. After he got stuck in SAO, she found out that they're not brother and sister, but cousins. She had new hope that when he woke up, she could rekindle their closeness and eventually make something more of it, only to discover that he'd already hooked up with someone else. Being sistertits Suguha is suffering.

Something like that isn't exactly unimportant, especially when it raises questions like yours. That is to say, no Japanese watching the show would have raised the question at all, unless they happened to not be facing the TV when he opened the e-mail. There's no reason for it to be a mystery for anyone else watching the show.

I agree that every tiny scrap of Japanese in the background needn't be translated, but this is a case where common sense should have prevailed, and they should have translated it for you.

I knew they weren't actual siblings. I watched the episode. Why did I call her his sister you ask? Oh... you know... because she's still his fucking sister. They grew up together as siblings and refer to each other as such. The deluge of 'onii-chans' made the nature of their relationship pretty clear. And even if they had no blood-relation at all, which they do, a bro complex would still creep me the fuck out.

Was just hoping the 'I'll be true to my feelings' bit wasn't what I thought it was. I see that my hopes will go unfulfilled.

Goodbye, SAO. You were mildly entertaining before you decided to knock on the door of every craptastic harem anime in existence.

Yeah, I went back and checked. I wasn't paying attention. And I still forgot who that was until I googled the name.

If there's any "herem," I never noticed it in 10 books, because Kirito solely devoted to and has eyes only for Asuna. There are other girls that pine for him, sure, but they know they don't have a chance in hell.

Suguha gets over it pretty quickly after she meets the tall-dark-and-handsome "Kirito" in ALO. As I said, being Suguha is suffering because she later discovers that Kirito is her cousin, Kirigaya Kazuto. After that, it's not an issue.

This is pretty cool. Watching the 3rd episode at the moment.

I'm curious though. Do they ever explain how their real bodies fare through all of this? I mean, sure I see them eat in-game and all that. But is there someone feeding them IRL or what?

The plausible explanation is that we see stuff happening in game time, whereas time passes much slower IRL. But this seems to contradict Klein's pizza moment in episode 1.

I suppose it's not a story render, but it does gnaw at me when I see these messages about it being the 3rd month of the game and all that.

I think it's said in the anime that they are all basically in hospitals and being cared for in the same manner one would treat a comatose patient. I assume that time in game is the same as out of game.

    FINALLY SISTERTITS!LYFA!

I still can't decide which character design I like better, Lyfa or Konno Yuuki, from Mother's Rosario. I must have them both!

Also, I need to quit reading the retarded SAO threads on /a/. Too many frodos thinking their so smart.

This episode seemed a bit filler-ish. Obviously, to anyone who read the books, it's straight out of the books, but the pacing seems to have gone from hyperspace to glacial.

Oh well, time to go watch /a/ explode in its usual trolling anti-SAO hatred.

Sugou's god complex had to be highlighted at some point. This episode just gave them the opportunity. Pretty good episode, though.

If you were watching the latest episode in a row of a number of episodes, I believe it would feel a lot better. Now, the development was slow enough, and I found myself at the end of the episode without noticing that anything important had happened. Except for the reveals and highlights.

Episode 18 is out and it's good stuff as usual.

I've read the light novels so I know what to expect, yet I still look forward to this every week.

the anime is good. there is a bunch of online games based animes (lets remember HACK.//) but is good. i have the novels but unfortunally i have not the time to read it ... to much to read and so little time. any way I will read them when the anime is over. the plot is good. and it has almost every thing on it to make it goog. action, and comedy and a little bit of drama and romance.
talking strictly about the anime. episode 18 was good. although i dont like the incest in it. other thing is that no body in elfheim recognice the name kirito when in SAO he was pretty famous, not even to say "you are an imposter" or something like that. ... one of the things I'm waiting for is a character named Puck, since there is an Oberon and a Titatia, a Puck should exist. other thing is the scape of Azuna, she is a strong woman, and I'm sure she is going to scape from the cage. and not going to wait for Kirito.

Jeez, Limne. At least run a spell check.

Watched the anime up to episode 18. Liking it quite a bit, the animations are great. I always crack the fuck up when the characters say something in English. Sounds so weird. SWICHETE!

Anyone know if there is an official novel translation out there? I don't want the manga, I want the light novels. I found a site that has a translated version, but it sucks so bad it's not even funny. I refuse to believe the original is as poorly written as the translation.

If there is indeed an official translation, where can I get it?

I have found that almost every episode in this series has been filler. Enjoyable, but filler. I think we saw two proper raid-groups in 13-14 episodes or whatever it was of the first arc. It's mostly been character interaction.

Don't get me wrong. It's still good. But it could use a little action once in awhile. Action that lasts more than thirty seconds.

That's pretty much how the LVs are until this current arc.

I read the first two novels when Baka-Tsuki was first translating them, they are mildly entertaining, but that is all. It has it's good points, but it also has it's bad points and sadly the bad points outweigh the good points.

My main gripe with this series is that it is full of poorly constructed cliche's. The author doesn't even try to be clever about them, they are hamfisted and jarring.

On the anime adaptation itself, the studio has done a decent job with everything, can't really complain much at all. Come to think of it Accel World was done nicely as well. The authors work have translated well to anime, so that's something good at least.

As a whole, I can't call this anything more than a time waster. It's not something that I will come back to in years to come. There has certainly been better stuff these last few seasons.
