I wonder if it's okay to post this, considering it was in the April competition. I guess it's more of an alert to DLP that I've put it up on FFnet than anything else.

To those that don't know what's going on, this was the First Place finalist of the DLP April humor competition.

I think you automatically get a place in the C2, and consequently the library, but the thread needs to be made :p

Same thing I said on IRC. I didn't find it funny at all. In fact I found it more bland than anything. However... technically sound. 3/5

Pretty mediocre, good for a chuckle and nothing much else. Says more about the dearth of entries more than anything else that this won.

This was simple and funny, filled with crack. There were some technical foibles in it, but I liked what I read.

I liked it in the thread, but for the library, I'm not so sure. For the contest, it fulfilled it's purpose, but for the Library I don't think that's enough. I guess I'll give it a 3/5, for this being only a set of vignettes and not really a story.

I story shouldn't have to stand on humor alone.

Slightly amusing, Bellatrix cracked me up more than anything.

    3/5

It was a lot better than the other entries, but if I were to just review it by itself, I'd grant it a 3/5 or so.

I agree that this shouldn't go into the library. A story should only be allowed in the library on it's own merits, not because it won a contest.

I only made this post as a sort of heads up that it's up on FFnet. I'd still like for it to be in the C2 however, because it technically is a contest winner, but mainly because being in the DLP C2 is just cool. :awesome

I dunno. I'd put it in the library. It kept me laughing throughout, which is really all I want a humor one-shot to do. The writing is technically competent, certainly good enough that it shouldn't disbar it. There was no real plot to speak of, but I don't think a crack ficlet has to have one. If anything were to keep it out for me, it would be how short it is.

    Anyway 4/5 from me.

Added to C2. Genuinely don't think it's Library worthy though and would honestly like to see the more obvious mistakes and formatting cleared up. But there you go.

I did not it funny. Somewhat amusing, yes, but not funny. Overall, an okay read.

I think my biggest gripe would be that there is no plot here. And if you don't have a plot then you essentially don't have a story.

Writing is technically competent. I'd suggest that if you're going to write more than form a decent plot for your story before doing so.

Read it before and liked it. Still want to see more of the concept.
