I don't know if anyone else here follows Tenjou Tenge, but most might remember it as essentially just another high school swords and tits manga. Now I've been following, it evolved from the High School setting which was bad enough as it was, even if it did prove amusing enough at times and it is now in some strange post-Apolcalyptic battle on a spiritual plane. I just thought is anyone as lost as I am, I mean I've read all the manga but somewhere along the line both I and the manga's author seem to have lost the plot.

It's essentially become swords, fighting, tits the plot is to put it frankly blown to eenie weenie pieces of shit but I will continue reading it for the tits and the swords just wondered if anyone else was as confused as I am and where you guys got to before you lost it. I think for me it was the revelation of the various clans who were all together guarding some terrible secret power and there was one person whose eyes could control it or some shit like that. For reference I think that was around chapter 70 the manga is now on chapter 121.

Nope, you're not the only one. I stopped half a year ago because I couldn't understand what the hell was happening. The fights and tits were nice to look at, but without an understandable plot it just falls apart.

But hey, at least it was fun to read back when the plot still made some sense.

Eh. I really couldn't start Tenjou Tenge cause it didn't make any sense to me right from the beginning.

On another note, Air Gear actually seems to be getting into the real action: aka The Gram-Scale Tournament.

 

Last I knew, Air Gear was still fairly reasonable in the WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY SHIT scale.

You want something vaguely similar to TT, try Ikkitousen. Its ... not that great, and is even more tits and ass than Tenge. What can you want more, with more tits and ass than one of the largest fan service mangas ever.

 

From what I understand, Nagi, the midget blondie, just absorbed his evil father in his mind after some climactic battle. Yeah, it's fucked up. I think he's meant to become the perfect warrior now, or something like that , hence the flying baby with 3 eyes....

 

I've only read one chapter of Air Gear, the one where Obama shows up.

 

I'm trying to think of a manga that's harder to follow than Air Gear but I just can't come up with any.

 

Air Master is another series similar to Tenge and Ikkitousen, just a lot less fanservice (basically none) and a lot more kicking people in the face.

 

Really? Air Gear is really not that bad as long as you stick with it through out. I'm not sure what you find difficult about it, but for me it's no where near the top of my list of most convulted manga.

 

What confuses me the most about the series is the fact that the author made a series about fucking rollerblading so dramatic. While Air Trek certainly have a greater functionality than your standard set, I do not understand how they would use them for the battles the series depicts. Or why there would be some unusually powerful sets of wheels which grant the user superpowers. Nor the fact that there seem to be mass revolutionary movements based solely on control of these wheels. While it may not be at the top of the list for you, I think that you have to concede that the series requires a serious suspension of disbelief to understand why some commercial toy, essentially, is so central to what seems to be most beings in the universe. It makes sense to have a series about racing or something, like the underground sports that the series was around at the start, but... as the primary method for an effective war? Makes me wonder why they all don't just carry around guns to do the dirty work for them if they're going to raze peoples' bodies with bladed wheels.

I guess I'll have to check it out again to see if things started to make sense. I have up when all those new character began to show up.

 

Hmm the kicking in the face has me very interested. I'm also both greatly encouraged and discouraged by the fact that the first volume of Ikki Tousen seems to be titled Battle Vixens.
