Honestly I was really excited to see this show. And it just fell flat. Obvious complaints are the son's angst over losing his girl. He's so pissed at the fact that he has to leave her behind and travel with his family that he snaps all the time and is rude. But as soon as Skye giggles at him he forgets all about her and hops in. Nevermind that you're in a strange environment and should probably get oriented. And having the children go to orientation while the adults just jump in to work seems convoluted. Everyone should have to get situated not just hit the ground running. And having the stupid girl not get eaten really pissed me off. And while Taylor did say that the slashers hides were thick so aim for the underbelly practically emptying a clip into one should have done more damage. I'm surprised that the carnataurs didn't just charge at the gate considering the fence is basically just wood poles.
I have a feeling this show is going to be more about Taylor and his son/the sixers than it will be about surviving the dinosaurs. And with the overpriced budget and meh ratings, i seriously doubt it will get renewed for next season..if it even makes it the full 22 episodes

 

The problem is that I think they've already created a full season of episodes, so it's too late to change anything. I can't see this surviving into a second season so it's probably just going to be more of the same old crap until it dies.

 

I just can't understand the design process. How could they of thought that this was a good idea?

 

Fuck it. I'm still pissed about the symbols.

They take such a awesome plot idea as mysterious unnatural symbols drawn on a cliff face millions of years before man even existed, and then immidietly reveal that the actual 5 second theories everyone was thinking of, were actually more epic than what it was revealed to be.

I mean ancient civilization, aliens, intelligent dinosaurs, Parrelel timelines that have diverged. The fact that the random time portal somehow landed them there and then, it didn't have to be random at all...

Unforgivable in my book.

So much potential. So much... awesomely epic T-Rex death. And yet, we get Dawson's Creek with a slew of Grey's Anatomy thrown into the mix.

UNFORGIVABLE.

 

Alright, fuck the show. Someone needs to do a TN fanfic based on the same premise but different characters and execution, pretty sure several authors here can do great with something like this. xD

According to Entertainment Weekly its just a season finale.

"The show will finish how it ended, with a two-hour episode" which is a fucking weird phrase. Finish how it ended. The show it self? How TN got started? STOP USING PRONOUNS WHEN YOU HAVEN'T ESTABLISHED THE CORRESPONDING NOUN.

In any case, tags are truth.

Because seriously if you think about it, One: Time travel? or Two: Alternate Dimension and Time travel.

If One: good luck reality

If Two: You have the ability to travel to different dimensions and time. Why did you choose an era where there are DINOSAURS. THINGS THAT EAT YOU. And that's letting the fact that they have the ability to even do this! The whole argument is that Earth is too fucked up so they needed to GTFO. Bitch you can travel through TIME AND REALITY. Are you seriously arguing to me that you cant FIX the Earth?

 

Watched the first episode. It has every cliche in the book, up to and the ancient including Black Guy Dies First. Yeah, I'm not that excited anymore. Especially considering the fact that the main characters are cardboard cutouts of stereotypes whose biggest moment involves being selfish bastards in the face of a dying world.

Fuck this. It's probably going to go the way of The Cape, and by doing so will kill all future projects in this general direction for another decade.

 

I am only watching the remaining episodes of this season, for the following reasons.

• Spite
• Self mutilation of the soul
• The miniscule hope that it may end well and not kill time travel and dinosaurs for the future
• The slim chance that the entire family, except for the husband get eaten by velociraptors kickstarting "AwesomeBadCop DinoExecutionerFinale" plot line.

Please tell me some one else watched the 2 hr finale.

This was what the show was supposed to be in my opinion. This may be the only redeeming episode of the entire series; this one episode has completely changed my opinion of the show.

I now feel like there are some semi competent writers and directors in the staff who were just being brow beaten by shit spewing Ass holes who wanted to destroy time travel and dinosaurs forever.

There was one particular scene near the end that almost had me pass out from awesomeness. You will know it when you watch it.

 

Tell me, can I just watch the season finale, and ignore the rest of season 1? If this is possible, I will definitely watch it.

I will provide a brief summary of key points in a spoiler tag so you do not have to watch the rest of the season.

Hot Chick - Skye, was a Sixer spy because the Sixer’s promised to cure her sick mother of her disease. She turned traitor to them because she is loyal to the Commander, but they had a falling out when he and the sheriff found out she was the spy.

Josh, the Sheriffs’ boy works at Bolin’s Bar. During a story arc, he was able to arrange for his future girlfriend to be on the next pilgrimage back.

Other Hot girl- Maddie, is dating a likeable soldier boy.

Myra, the leader of the Sixer’s is a pawn in a bigger conspiracy because she wanted to provide for her daughter in future. All she wants now is to get back to the future.

Kyle, The commander’s son, is the true leader of the Sixers, and he has daddy issues. He also, has figured out a way to turn the portal into a two-way channel. The last episode he traveled back to the future. Promising an invading army to strip mine the valley and terra nova for resources to feed the super powerful and wealthy in the future. Think Occupy Wall streets idea of bank CEO’s.

The 11th pilgrimage is on its way. They are expecting a attack.

 

I thought the series was alright, to be honest. I quite enjoyed it. I was disappointed in regards to the writing on the stone, but whatever. They made up for it slightly with the most recently developed mysteries. I wouldn't say no to a second season.

are you talking about Jim setting raging carnotaurus loose in 2149. then yeah it was pretty bad-ass.

Honestly speaking, These last two episodes were by far the best in entire season. They almost made up for the disaster that was rest of the season.

Hope, the writers get the hint and move the second season in this direction and stop with family drama nonsense, there are already more than enough family drama's on air.

 

I heard Terra Nova might be cancelled :O

 

It had a pretty slow start, but the season finale has made me want a second season at least. The second season could be what I expected from the first.
