I quoted this because it's like. Almost like foreshadowing, I don't think Vaimes would have stayed as engaged as he as (if you really want to call this engaged), with the wolf team imploding the way it did. D2/N2 would have sucked the will to wim out of him pretty hard, and instead he still had some fire in him - his response to Reg (I think it was?) poking at him especially where he defended himself.

The last bit is directed at me, and I don't think Vaimes has the balls to come after me on D1 as a wolf. I've never misread him and he knows it.

This post was wrt him catching a possible inconsistency in my posts, and I like it because it means he was actually trying to figure out my alignment. If he's a wolf he's just like 'yes yes Eido is a villager, killing him soon, blah blah' and skims my posts at most imo.

Think this is a pretty good Town!Von indicative thing - as a wolf I don't think he fakes forgetting why he town reads someone like this, he'd over-think like, someone deciding that means he never had the read in the first place or something idk.

I acknowledge maybe this isn't a real reads list? And in some ways it does make me headtilt that hes potentially overplaying the 'going after the strong players d1 with no fear' thing, but still don't really think he does this as a wolf.

Similar to another post, where it's just a really casual 'I did this thing to try and read Newcomb but then forgot about it' that I struggle to see him thinking to fake as a wolf. And that's the distinction for me, faking stuff is fine, but /thinking/ to fake them is a different thing altogether.

Just so...casual? Free flowing? Idk. It just feels like Town Vaimes to me especially with caring about D1 topposter. And a kind of confidence that he struggles to have as a wolf in his content/play.

I love this post, and it's what locked in my initial town read on Von - the kind of mixture of snark and earnestly pleased at getting there on Newcomb easily. Just super genuine.

This being a separate post from the previous one is something I like, the 'post automerged' is the important factor. It's a tagged on kind of thing that shows like, that he was thinking about how the gamestate changes for him with Fenwicked being a wolf.

Vaimes is just town here.

 

Reading Eido's EOD1 and interactions with the wolves is making me rethink his position on the list I made before. Seeing Jan make a move onto him when Beru is back and talking about the fen treatment thing is something.

I feel like I should have stopped townreading Jan if he actually pushed me because he never does on D1, but I have no recollection of it.

I thought it was Vaimes/Gemma/Stanari for some reason. Hum. Eh, in retrospect it was clearly a joke and I'm a little embarassed by how I responded to that. I had just come into the thread after a solid 14 straight hours in Anni thread with EoD closing in, and was stressed and cranky, and snapped a bit.

It's something I talk about with Newcomb a lot OOG/between games, the way that we tend to read Vaimes, and the difficulty in articulating it to people that don't know him. Because it really is just a weird blend of snark and solving and self-satisfaction and fluff and, I dunno. I guess you could call it tone, but it's not even quite that, it's just a uniquely villagery thing from him that is really hard to articulate.

When he's a wolf you tend to only see one of those things in a post instead of them blended together, because he's actively trying to fake it.

If you end up lynching me today for some stupid reason, promise me you won't lynch Vaimes at F3, and always lynch Jari. I'm literally willing to bet the game for entire town on that read, so. Yeah.

 

Aw, you sharing that quote where Vaimes asks for Tsaiah meta reminds me that he didn't like the D1 Tsaiah wagon either, even though it had 2 people he was appealing to for reading Tsaiah on it.

Seems like his instinct was right, because two of those people flipped wolf, although Tsaiah was just also a third wolf.

I can't fake the nuance and weirdness of the interactions I had with Beruru, or those massive rambling posts I made the one night when I was left alone in the thread with my fuzzy vision and sleep deprivation.

Like, I realize I should just be happy you're correctly town reading me, but I get irrationally annoyed when I get town read for fakeable stuff.

 

Eido, do you remember who you were responding to, if anyone in particular, around EOD1? I don't think your posts were quoting anyone but you made them after Jan voted.
