I was reading the Anti-cliche thread and didn't feel like necro'ing, so here we have version 2.0.

Personally, I would like to read a Harry who has been raised by Aunt Marge. Think of the sick twisted individual that would step onto the Hogwarts express for the first time.

 

Abhorsen-Harry, ala the Sabriel series.

Unknown-Harry in a world that still thinks Voldemort is alive post-AK reflection on Halloween.

A Harry who actually wants to rule the world, whether it be out of idealist notions gone wrong, ala Light, or out of pure power hunger, I've never seen this concept really played out.

A Harry who wants to take over the muggle world using magic.

Oh and a Harry Potter that willingly absorbs the Voldemort soul fragment inside him to become stronger.

 

If you could figure out a way to get this going without the whole OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE IT'S AN INTERDIMENSIONAL PORTAL thing, it'd definitely be an idea worth pursuing...

 

Harry DIES. How hard could it possibly be for him to meet an Abhorsen? They spend half their fucking time over there.

 

You guys have probably all seen those stories where Harry gets hit with a Killing Curse and he survives because of the prophecy, right? I want to see one where he literally can't die, but his body can take damage. For example, if his brains were blown out, his body would continue functioning and he could keep going,m thinking and so on, but there'd be this big fucking hole in his skull. Makes for fun interaction later.

What about a fic where Dumbledore was wrong, it was never the power of love, it was the power of indifference.

 

Here's my idea: the HP series happened, every single event and interaction the same. Harry is still a pussy the whole way through, Ron is a douche, and Hermione is a fucking cunt.

However the epilogue is realistic. Ginny, after sending the children off to Hogwarts, forgets to spike Harry's morning coffee with the weekly dose of Amorentia, allowing Harry to come to his senses...and boy is he pissed.

Join Harry as he frolicks around England, murdering those who fucked him around for twenty years, and taking revenge on those who should have the boots put to them, but since JKR is a pussy, never did, and generally having a gay ole time.

I was thinking an Abhorsen (not Sabriel) crosses into the HP universe after looking up in the ninth level while ringing the big bell (can't remember its name). He pops out of the veil. His presence pops the barrier between the worlds, a bunch of free-magic badies and others pour into the HP-verse. Voldemort learns about the power of necromancy. HP learns from the Abhorsen to counter this, the ability to use the bells being the power-he-knows-not.

Continue on with a plot, a powerful, necromancer Voldemort brining back Harry's loved ones back, and possibly a reverse-Necrophiliac-Sirius, and you got a decent fic in the makings.

I also have another really BIG idea. Might post it as a challenge, might post it here. Don't have the plot for it totally worked out though.

Another potential story is that same thing happened, but back in ye dawne of tyme. Which was why the Ministry was built around the veil, in case some clever dick punches a whole in reality again. Then someone else does the same thing - perhaps Lirael, since she's the only one I remember canonically wandering past the Eighth.

Or, for shits and giggles, you can plonk down the whole of the Old Kingdom on top of Scotland, merging the two together. I doubt Ancelstierre would miss it. Free and Charter magic colliding with Wand at the border, making it a rather unpleasant place to be. Charter magic fades south of the border and Wand magic does the same to the north. Hmm... I'm starting to see some potential here...

During the priori Incantatum in the graveyard, Voldemort should AK Harry, trapping him in the wand. Since Harry's true wand is the brother's of Voldemorts he manages to do something to it to win....or something.

I dunno, I just wanna see where all those 'shades' that came from Voldemort's wand stayed.
