They actually let the guy who created Buffy to do the Avengers movie? (shivers in pain) God there goes another good movie. Well if he sticks to form we will probably smell the cliche and lack of creativity before we reach the cinema... STILL it does make you wonder if the films are successful (the ones leading up the Avengers) because of the older fanbase because come on the modern comics have gotten duller... They need to pull a DC and blow up the universe lol.

I was hoping Ed Norton would be in it. :(

    Best Hulk so far.

I don't know. I can't wait for this movie, but this trailer left me rather unimpressed. It's not even that it was lacking any spectacular scenes (aside this really weird looking cars explosion scene), but whoever did it could definitely make it in more awesome way. I remember 30 second teasers of movies I didn't even want to see that left me more excited than this.

I just love Robert Downey Jr. too much not to see it.

It's a decent trailer but it doesn't pump me up to see the movie. Rather forgettable, really. :/

Interesting plot twist at the end- I can never decide between powered or chocolate either.

Necro, but there was a new trailer during Super Bowl that was pretty awesome.

I still can't get fired up at this. The ending of the trailer even got my mood down.

The Marvel movie I loved the most was The Incredible Hulk (not the faggy Ang Lee one), but Ed Norton isn't even in Avengers. This one thing is so unfathomable, the decision to replace Ed with the guy from Shutter Island and not a comparable actor so incomprehensible, but it breaks down any anticipation I might have for this film.

As much as everyone loves Robert Downey Jr., he doesn't compensate for Norton's absence, and the rest of the actors are below Robert, so they make up for even less.

I don't like how so much of the promotional material is concentrated in a city. It's the most massive superhero movie undertaking in the history of cinema, but it'll be souring if it takes place at New York City or has the climactic battle there. How unambitious.

Edit: So I googled around, and there were disagreements between Norton and Joss Whedon, the director. The wrong man left the project.

And damn. Chuck from Shutter Island. This is just out of whack.

Eh, Norton did hurt the movie by not coming back, but I think Renner as Hawkeye is a good addition.

I had thought it was because his price was too high for Marvel Studios to go for.

I'd have loved for him to return too, but I don't think his absence will kill the movie.

    Xantam.

I don't give a FUCK about Hawkeye. He can go shoot arrows at shit or whatever the fuck he does.

And even accepting that Norton is gone, not even finding an acceptable replacement for him is worse. I'm going to wager that Chuck spends most of his time in Hulk CGI form. It makes sense for him to play a mainly functional role and not a dramatic one.

This really captures the bizarre nature of Marvel's decision-making: http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/motion-...-the-hulk-in-the-avengers-but-he-d-like-to-be

Damn right I want to see Edward Norton and not someone more affordable. His absence is non-trivial, and I'm not going to see the film for that reason. I don't see any point, because Ed was literally the major selling point of the film for me.

I don't want to rant anymore so I'll just leave the issue at that.

Fair point. I honestly don't think Hawkeye should be in the film either. I would've been content with just the big four (Iron Man, the Hulk, Captain, and Thor). I'm just saying that Renner's a talented actor.

Another trailer that left me less excited than I was expecting it will. That is worrying when Snow White and the Huntsman looked more interesting to me. Well, mostly because of brilliant Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, but still.

And the fact that Ed is not in this movie is definitely one of the biggest wasted opportunities in recent history of movie making.

Hmm. Haven't seen the Ed Norton version of Hulk, after the previous one was so shitty. I take it you guys would recommend I rent or stream it? Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a *bad* Ed Norton movie, so I guess that's my answer, huh?

And yes, the trailer was seriously underwhelming. As much as I enjoy looking at Scarlett Johannson, she is a sad, sad actress. And in fact, Downey may end up stealing the film by default, since he's so much more charismatic and fun to watch. If Ed Norton had been there, there'd at least be someone for Downey to play against other than the cardboard cutouts we've got now.

Well, there's Sam Jackson, and that does make a difference, but hell, why did we get stuck with /Hawkeye/ when there are many, many other Avenger alums to choose from.

If Norton had been in it, I'd be throwing my money at the cashier in my haste to get in. I might still actually pay to see it, as I reckon Downey is always worth a watch, but I'm mehish on the others. Hawkeye in particular - he's like an incredibly crap Batman. And I'm sad we won't get Portman, although she probably wouldn't fit in quite right.
