the way HArry went about comming into power was wayyyyyy overused. So again i have a small bit of dialogie to post.

Deatheaters apperate next to Harry and the Dursleys.


Deatheater #1: Hello Potter, we are going to kill you.

Harry gets pissed and his hair turns gold

Harry: Holy shit I am uber powerful now i shall pwnzar all you nooblings.

Harry waves his hand and all the deatheaters explode.

( not quite the gamer lingo but you get the point)

I have seen way to many Super Harry! fics start out like that. though i do like that fact that he didnt have access to all of his power from the start. Though the circle thing was really corny but hey it was oringinal i think. There were a few aspects that caught my interest but that was about as far as it went for me.

 

The first few chapters weren't that bad (aside from distustignly overdone interactions with harry/ginny/ron/hermione). Once I got to the aprt where Dumbledore lets Harry into his library reluctently, then instantly says "Oh yeah of course Ron and Hermione can use it too!" I stopped reading. Honestly, he barely let harry in there but those two are fine as well?

For some reason I can't ever get past the first chapter. Not because it's terribly written, but because it's just supremely uninteresting.

 

I recall reading this back in my 'read anything' days, and even then I despised it. Something about his character interactions with Dumbledore and McGonagall ticked me the hell off. But, yeah, like Sree said, it is one of those fics that stands out as having had a lot of influence on so many other fics.

 

I'm with Nuhuh on this one, I couldn't even get into it way back in the day. I couldn't remember it until I read the first chapter, then I just remembered this disgust that I had for the fic.

 

IIRC from several years ago, the problem with the fic is that *everyone* gets supered up. First we get super Harry, then we get super friends, then super Voldemort.

Since the relative power levels end up pretty much the same, why not just keep everyone as they were in the first place?

 

I think in this you even had super Dobby, though I can't remember rightly...

I remember loving it at the time though. I think its one of those fics which I won't ever dip back into, as I remember it being epic, and I'll hate it now after being spoiled by the likes of Shezza, etc.
