After chapter 6 the review responses are longer than the chapter. And the author is actually DEMANDING reviews before posting more chapters. I have half a mind to drive to said authors house and kill them for daring to write such bilge.

 

I really don't know who got the idea to hold chapters hostage.

 

A person who doesn't truly understand the concept of writing for enjoyment.

 

Why writing if you don't want to?

 

That pisses me off. 'I want a bajillion reviews, or I'm not posting another chapter!' Go to hell, review whores! It's good to see the write for the right reasons.

 

I'm ambivalent on the issue. I like reviews and am inspired by them, and feel less inclined to update quickly if I get less than I decide that I want. On the other hand, I have never outright said that I wanted a certain number before I would update again, and never plan to. Really it just comes down to appreciation. I feel my efforts are being wasted if people aren't reading and reviewing.

 

The point, LS, is that the reward for your effort should be either your enjoyment of the process (or writing itself), or the final result (the finished story). My personal opinion is that if I would enjoy writing something even if no one left a single review, wounded though my ego may be, it will be written. If I need that review to enjoy making the fic, then I don't feel my heart is in it. I remedy the temptation personally by refusing to post any work in progress. I feel worrying about reviews or feeling rushed to write more is a distraction from creativity. If my story never gets finished this way, no one loses out and I never wrote anything I didn't enjoy writing, at my own pace.

 

I once read a fic where Harry was somehow forced into marrying Ginny, who he right out hated at the time. So when he found out, he went up to her, asked "You wanna know what it'll be like when we're married?" then just slapped her. Then he told her if he had to marry her, he'd fuck her once and if she didn't get pregnant, then he would just use artificial insemination, "After all, you're already a cow. And if your mother is a template to go by, you'll soon be an ugly, fat cow."
I'm not sure if it was bad or good. The story vanished a long time ago, about a week or two after it appeared.

 

lol, that's awesome. I read one with a title I forgot, but Harry makes Ron impregnate her and alters their memories or some shit, because if either he or she had sex it nullified the marriage contract Dumbles and Molly were pushing. I forget the details...

i don't know what it is about this fic, but i can't stand it.

 

Yeah, I read that one. Just trying to remember the name. I know it's an Azkaban one, after he was found innocent.. I think. It isn't the one where he's turned into a Banhee, is he?

 

I read it, i read it! i can't rememeber it, but it we was a sweet story. i'm pretty sure it was 'dark lord' by 'Demon God of Chaos', but it was deleted... one of my favorite storys too... FANFICTION.NET STRIKES AGAIN!!!

 

i went to the yahoo groupe *and even signed up) but the only thing dark lord in there were the sex scenes, and dont get me wrong, i read those, but the fic wasn't there, and whats the acount?

 

last time i looked it was still there, but i remember it being under one of the damned subfolders the guy has the group infested with.
