You should not assume that Summer is automatically good and Winter is automatically evil. I dont think it is quite that simple. The queens of summer atleast have been shown to have no problems with deceit, betrayal or (attempted)murder.

Infact the writer of the Dresden Files, Jim Butcher has said that Summer Queen Titania is not much better than Winter Queen Mab. And that atleast Mab is up front about her nastiness.

Yeh, but I always figured that that was because the wards of Hogwarts were blocking a great deal of her strength. This could have left Maeve weakened enough that Fawkes would have been strong enough to prevent her entry.

Infact I just checked and the wards are the first reason Harry gives for his surprise that Maeve is there, Fawkes is only the second. This time however, the wards were down because Harry asked Dumbledore to do it.

I mean Fawkes does not own Hogwarts. I don't even know who owns it? Ministry? The board? But it is certainly not Fawkes. Even Dumbledore does not own the place, he is merely the headmaster. A fact which is made especially clear when he will be kicked out. So what justification would Fawkes have in denying Maeve entry or demanding some price for it?

I suppose there could be some bizarre Sidhe-law that states that if you live in a place long enough you have a say in whether other sidhe can come in. Even if it is a "relatively" public institution like Hogwarts. But I don't think Fawkes could forcibly prevent Maeve from coming/staying without outside assistance. And since Dumbledore is unlikely set his wards to kick out a child and a refugee...

Dunno what's Shezzas view on the issue though.

Bah, who said I assume such thing? Good and Evil are relative terms and we should not forget that Sidhe's mind works different comparing to humans. Man, we have a precedent - Fawks has already let Maeve in Hogwarts for a bargain. What makes you think this time will be any different? Fawks wouldn't do anything extreme at least because Maeve is a goddamn Winter Lady.

I see... Maeve and Harry's daughter will return to the nevernever and in the sequel to Denarian Knight – several months later – Harry's daughter will be sixteen and the pairing will then be Harry/Harry's daughter.

    A remarkable twist. I hadn't anticipated it!

I didn't mean it like that. I'm not implying that Fawkes is an evil, vindicitive, conceited fae who's going to bitch slap the ice princess and her daughter. I just meant that Harry was throwing caution to the wind. He'll deal with any problems as they arise. Roll with the punches, as it were.

    Edit:
Maeve grows jealous of her daughter's increasing covertly-incestual relationship with Harry. This will set things up for a reverse-elektra effect where Maeve attempts to reintegrate herself into the relationship.

This opens the door for angry, jealous sex between Harry, his daughter, and her mother. Cessbulby can be the daughter's play thing when the story needs to be spiced up.

Vash has more than corrupted him. Vash is possessing him.

I loved the new chapter so far. I cant wait to see the conversation between Dumbledore and Maeve with Fwakes a summer fae standing by.

Is it wrong for me to think that Harry/Daughter would be funny to read about?

Two words about the chapter:EPIC WIN.

I didn't see Harry as doing so well in the battle either, they looked to be equally matched. But look at it like this, Harry had just fought in a major battle (or 2) and Vesper is theoretically unattacked. So Harry matching even with her means he is more powerful.

I thought the nitpickers would pick this one up. Chance and coincidence are practically the same thing. By chance or fate, by chance or design, etc. would work here.

I think the idea was that it was either just coincidence or it was the effect of the sword's luck. Not certain on that, though, as it could have been phrased with far more clarity were that the case.

Agreed. I read that as either the whole 'luck of God' thing, or just regular old luck.

I agree with you. I think you both have the right understanding of what Shezza meant. But that is exactly why the wording doesn't make sense as it is. Something happening by coincidence is something happening by a slim chance. There's no room for heavenly design, fate, or magic-sword-luck in there.

Cessbulby likes honey. Toot-Toot likes pizza. Loli haet pizza.

    Ice-Loli + honey + Cess FTW

You like your honey don't you? You greedy little gobble guts fairy. OMNOMNOMNOM

I just realised how perverse this all is. It's like waking from a dream. Oh, my god. What was I typing? [/edit]

This bit just appeared awkward. I dunno what the grammatical term for this is but I'm pretty sure "furious anger" doesn't really work.

I think furious anger is anger^2... or something

Oz (who needs sleep and probably just said something really stupid)
EDIT: If it's in pulp fiction, it must be true ;) What a legendary film...

That wasn't Lea. Lea doesn't have violet eyes.

On another note Lea would whip Maeve's ass, and publish the pictures of it in the male mag of our choice.

    Loving it so far Shez

I think it's justified, with the radiance of the chapter making the thread a shining beacon to all moths.
