That's actually one of the methods they use for calibrating C-14 dating. I think they have tree rings going back nearly 11000 years. Heh, they do.

If people want to dismiss carbon dating as scientific voodoo then the least they can do is count fucking tree rings. You can't falsify that! They're annual tree rings. They're right infront of you. Count them, bitches.

    Yak.

I'm torn. On one hand he support's Padma, on the other he's a creationist.
If the same people who told you the earth is 6,000 yrs old told you to jump off a cliff, would you?

As in, you agree with the scientific community's agreement that it's ~4.8 billion years old?

Or as in you're just not willing to argue?

It's ironic that a fic based on fallen angels "evolved" into a Science vs. Bible argument.

    The former.

    1. I'm not religious. *Arguable, sure. Yet I do not believe in the worshiping of Jesus or god. Nor do I go to a church.

    2. This has been done to death with Sree numerous times before.

    3. Drop it. The only results are cyber bullying (I know. :wall: ) along with kicks and/or bans.

It may have been done to death, but I've never experienced it. I'm honesty curious how you believe in creationism without a creator...

Not the same, Taure. Well, not quite.

    Creationism fails.

If he were talking about Intelligent Design instead of creationism, then yeah, I could see how that could work. After all, there are several scenarios that could explain our universe without a 'God' as the creator. I'm quite partial to this universe being an experiment for a highschool kid or a mad scientist from an alien race (alien being outside of this universe, obviously) :p. Makes me feel all important 'n' stuff.

Creationism though... That really is incompatible with the current theories of how the Earth began. The whole theory of a Creator making the world with us as its masters in his place 6000 years ago, it just doesn't sit with the knowledge we have. Even the accurate carbon dating processes we have predate that by a long margin.

There is thought (via the idea of the recycled universe) that the universe may in fact be trillions of years old, and all the dark matter floating around in the universe is just the dead and decayed matter from previous incarnations of the universe. It's an idea that came about after trying to make sense of some of the stuff seen with string theory, quantum mechanics, and a few other odds and ends. Essentially, this conjecture states that every one to two trillion years or so, a big bang occurs, dumps some new matter into the universe, and that's that.

It would kind of be like a box floating on an ocean. Every so often, new water spills into the box.

Ahh, here's a link to it.

Thisperson: you've never heard of ID before? Basically, it's creationism under a more politically correct name.

    This thread is fucking terrible.

Maybe Shezza should post a read only topic and a discussion topic.

LOL! I know Vash just skeeted all over his screen. Anyways, I found a few grammatical errors, but I'm sure either Warlocke or Oz will find them and show you. Other than that, good one, extremely funny. XD
