I liked the newest part. Harry has calmed down alot when you think about it but I get the feeling that the way Maeve looks down at everyone except her mother and grandmother makes her miss just how powerful Harry has become. Harry Denarian Lord Knight of the Cross vs Maeve the Queen who shall be of the Winter Court. Thats gonna be great.

On the subject of him going soft, I don't really see that as the case, or rather, it isn't the shallow. He's "soft" for a few things, Amaris, Meciel and silk sheets to be precise. I wouldn't say his personality has changed enough for that reaction from Maeve unless she's the most pedantic being in the multiverse.

 

Maybe she's pissed now because he's all rational with his hatred/killing, has set goals for the future etc, and cant be lead by his cock, or manipulated into killing things on behalf of Maeve so easily.

So now Maeve is all like "oh noes jour soo weak, le sigh"

Maybe.

That being said, I anticipate some Faerie smack down in the near future. Good update

 

Harry has changed over the course of the series, yes, Maeve is right about that. Has he become domesticated? No. He's just smarter about reaching his goals. If he was ruthless in his way to power, he wouldn't have Dumbledore's, Michael's and Sanya's aid and would probably be dead by now.

The passion Maeve spoke of is still there, it's just focused now, it has a clear direction.

I think Maeve is genuinely disapointed in Harry, but for a different reason though. The Harry she wished he would have become, would be so much easier to control, to toy with. Who needs a Winter Knight when you have such a powerful weapon in the realm of mortals?

Oh, and I forsee Harry/Summer Court alliance. It would benefit both sides.

 

I'm not 100% sure, but shouldn't it be "Fallen Angel"?

I liked the way Maeve tried to rile Harry up, I liked his interaction with Verrine even better. As a matter of fact, Harry killed out of revenge just five chapters ago, even if it feels like ages.

I agree. He is much more dangerous now if you think about it. He has learned patience(when he wants to), which is makes him far more dangerous to his enemies.

First of all, Maeve/Amaris mother/daughter tag team action for the win.

Second, I agree with what's been said about Maeve being disappointed with Harry. She said she could have made him a god, but it would have been on her terms, so she would have been a knife at his back.

Harry is far from domesticated, but perhaps Maeve doesn't like where Harry is mentally. As a Fae, Maeve is not human at all, and human emotions or human reactions to emotions are not there. She summoned Amaris and had hot lesbian makeout time with her to fuck with Harry and partially because she could. The idea of shame associated with that does not compute.

Although the idea of Maeve/Amaris action stirs a fire in me hotter than the black flames of Hell, she did it because she could.

Think about that. Someone simply doing things because they can, who is not aware of limits or doesn't care is actually quite dangerous. I can only hypothesize, but I think a major plot point of Denarian Lord would be how Harry deals with Maeve for good, as in this she seems to have cut tues with him.

 

I believe that the Maeve/Amaris scene can be summed up in an excellent quote from the Denarian Knight:

I wonder how this whole thing with Amaris will play out. It seems to me that Harry at this point would be capable of trying to retrieve her from Maeve if he so desired. Not only have his skills at magic increased greatly, but he also has the Sword which I would guess would be very effective against Maeve, since in addition to all the holy-power it is also made of steel(iron) which would be lethal to Maeve.

Also the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore is close enough that if Harry asked, Dumbledore would no doubt join in on the attack. Not only because saving Amaris would be the right thing to do, but also because he would think that raising Amaris would have a "mellowing" influence on Harry which is something he would want. Besides, he owes Harry for killing Malfoy.

Heck, it just occurred to me that after all the times Harry has saved one of Michaels kids, he could probably rely on the other two knights to return the favour and join in on the attack. On a lesser level there is also potentially Verrine and members of Dumbledores order. Sirius for instance would no doubt join in, if only because such an attack would suggest that Harry is coming to his line of thinking in caring about family. There is also Fawkes who would no doubt join in just to spite Maeve.

Harry has more allies and power than Maeve seems to think. She might come to regret her actions. I hope so anyway.

Anyway, I think at this point the only question is: does Amaris want to be rescued. The writing does seem to suggest that she is unhappy with her mother but you can never tell with those pesky fairies. Maybe Harry could contact Cess and ask.

Excellent points... and yeah, Maeve is going down. She has to, Harry wants his daughter back, after all.

I think Harry's been "domesticated" though that term seems to imply Harry's a dog. He's not, he just acts in a more socially acceptable way. Perhaps his willingness to conpromise makes him appear weak, but I don't think his mental or physical prowess is in question.

 

Yeap. I was talking to Shezza while he was writing, and that was the first thing I commented on. I thought it was fucking hilarious.

 

Nice! Though I am wondering will Harry ever do somethng about or ever be able to do something about Amaris? Or is that it, she belongs to Maeve and that's that? Amaris is turning into a crazy little slut, can't really blame her though, she's probably been screwed by half of winter by now. lol.

 

Excellent as ever. Though I tended to agree with Maeve in the beginning, seeing as how Harry was in the earlier series, with Demonic summonings and Harry being a generally harsher person. Then I remembered how far Harry had gotten from sacrificing rapists to Cthullu to having a Sword of the Cross and fucking over Outer Demons and having Dumbledore as an ally.

Also, excellent Amaris/Maeve scene, someone must create an omake that shows the leading up to that.

 

Yo guys. The last part of Ch14 is up. I went back and made some changes to the first scene, just to make it flow better and everything- although it's not posted, since I can't edit it. This next two scenes are quite short- especially the last scene, since we've all pretty much see what Harry does when he attack something. I know I say this a lot but I'll get started on the next chapter when I get a chance. A spell-check and some feedback would be most welcome.

I am looking forward to Namshiel vs Harry almost as much as Harry vs. Maeve.
